What is a lifter and where dose it located when i start it make a lot noise for 30mins and stop then start again

Because the lifter leaks down when the engine is cold and then pumps up later tells me that the lifter is faulty and needs to be replaced. I would recommend using someone who is qualified for the job. This isn't a skill level D job.

My freezer compartment is making a loud vibrating noise. The ice maker is not working, the water freezes on the inlet ramp to the cube maker. What gives?

The vibration is usually an unballance, check the freezer fan blade for any broken pieces. The water freeze will cause the Ice maker to not work..if the fill valve for the ice maker leaks, even a small bit it will freeze up on that "inlet ramp" if so, replace the fill valve. Else, I've found a unit not used, left alone for a week or more.. that tube still freezes up...gets too cold?

Freezer making a loud noise.

Sounds as if the evaporator fan has shaft play or the blades are out of balance or striking something. When you open the door the pressure is equal but with the door closed the fan needs to push the air through the evaporator and return again and circle through fan again. I think soon would be a good time to unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel covering the evaporator and fan motor to inspect the fan, shaft play and the evaporator for frost buildup or any obstruction of air flow. Thanks, sea Breeze

The fridge compartment not getting any cold air.

Well for whatever reason the fridge compartment is now getting cold air again and its all working fine. Have no idea whats gone on with it but is working again hahaha. The only thing that we did was take the back off the freezer, where it houses the fan motor, the motor wasnt quite straight so I straightened it and now its working. Whether that was the problem to begin with I have no idea.

Loud humming noise as fridge is running

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.

Thanks,
Bill

Dacor refridgerator model # ef488dcbss

Air flow from freezer to fridge box may be obstructed, ck for free flow there, no big steaks in the way of air to lower unit, or may be set too cold. Thats all i got for now, try it.
