The hard drive is faulty. The tik sound is generally known as the "click of death".
You need to replace the hard drive, it cannot be repaired.
If you need to recover data from this hard drive, there are companies that can recover data from faulty hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

The tic tic tic noise is known as the tic of death. This hard drive is faulty especially when you go into the BIOS and the hard disk is not detected. This is why when you try to install Windows it cannot detect a hard disk.
The hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

When put on the pc, tik tik sound coming from hard disk

Hello my friend.
This is indicates that you have hardware problem on your disk or is very dirty.
The only think you can try before buy new one is to scan it for errors and and do a defrag.
You go to MY COMPUTER
You select your hardrive LOCAL DISK C: etc
Right click-Properties-Tools Check now(Check for errors) Probaply will ask for a restart to scan it,so do a restart do start scanning your disk
For a defrag you do the same but in Tools you choose Defragment now(defrag now)

When put on the pc, tik tik sound coming from inside the HDD. and no HHD detect

Hard disk drive has gone bad. the ticking is the read heads hitting the stops hard. means that the disk might have been dropped.
If the ticking is musical in nature, like a waltz, this is caused by a virus that can activate after april 1st of any year.

Sounds like the HD (Hard drive) has failed you. That's the TICKing sound you hear.Hard drives used to hardly ever fail today its common. You can send the HD off to have the Information saved if its priceless information I would, if not then I would buy a new HD and install it fresh. The Laptop Wont Even Start

Acer has the tendancy to blow it's regulator circuit, it makes a fast tik-tik-tik sound, if so, send in for repairs, nothing you can do to fix it. JJ
