The error code C:32:20 is a take-up reel malfunction. The ejection malfunction is something else and can be caused by several problems including a defective eject switch in the cameras internal circuitry and can usually vbe repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Internal mounting screws for the tape chassis may have come loose and can no longer hold the tape in the correct position. You will need to disassemble the camcorder to access the tape mechanism.

CAMCORDER'S TAPE IS STUCK, WHEN I PRESS EJECT, THE OUTER COMPARTMENT OPENED BUT THE TAPE COMPARTMENT DID NOT. IT WILL NOT GO DOWN ALSO?

You might have a sony handycam? If so, it is a manufacturers problem that came with the camera. Mine does this all the time, just slap the outside of it and it works. I know it sounds harsh - only do this if you have a sony handycam.

Viewing SONY 8mm Tapes -- Please help

The older tapes were shot on a 8mm camcorder and the camcorder you have wil not play them becasue it doesn't have backwards compatability with the older format. The tapes you recorded are on a digital 8 camcorderr and it is different encoding than the one you recorded the other 60 tapes with. You will need to find either a dcr-trv 350 trv 530 trv 730 ect as these have the ability to play all the tapes.
Or find an older 8mm camcorder to play your tapes with.
Hope this helps

Sony DCR-TRV145E Digital 8 camcorder - won't play or record.

Fortunately they are still making 8mm camcorders usually running less the $200 to replace. It could be more cost effective to get a new model for that price as well. I couldn't record on my Sony 8mm camcorder anymore after five years of use and over 100 tapes that I had recorded. It's plays back but that's about it.

I've had to fix this problem several times. You need to open the 8mm cassette, and manually rewind to where the tape got twisted around. Then untwist it, and manually wind the tape back on the reels. and then put the cassette back together. If the tape isn't torn you should be fine. There might be creases in the tape- but they will only give you a slight picture glitch or drop out. You need to run a head cleaning tape through your camcorder before you try taping again. It might hose up the next tape if you don't.

8mm analogue camcorder tape playback at double speed

If you ran it through that many 8mm players, I'm going to say that the tape has something wrong with it.

You can see visually if there is anything wrong with the tape by releasing the cover by moving the tape and visually inspect the tape for anything that could be frayed. Usually you can see it on the bottom of the tape.

Sometimes the takeup can be messed up in the tape too. Once you release the tape cover, you can turn the white wheels to see if there is any slack in them.

Good luck on that.

Tape compatibility question.

Yes. Hi8 camcorders are manufactured to work with 8mm or Hi8 tapes. The difference is the quality of the tape. 8mm tapes will provide about 270 lines of resolution where a Hi8 tape will provide up to 400. For better quality recordings, you'll want to use Hi8 tapes.
