To turn off the touch pad for this system, use the Fn+F7 key. This should
toggle your touch pad on and off.

The manual can be found here

Touchpad drag and drop from surveys

This can be accomplished a couple of ways. Depending on the model of your computer there may be a pressure sensitive switch under the mouse pad that pressing a little harder will actuate. Another method is there might be 'virtual' mouse buttons on your trackpad. Put one finger in the flower left corner and drag on the pad with another. Finally, there is a setting for a double click drag and drop. Tap the mouse pad twice and on the second tap keep your finger on the pad and move it. Good luck!

Mouse keeps shifting the cursor to a different place in document

On touchpads if you touch the pad twice in quick succession it acts as a click and the cursor will move to the mouse pointer location. In mouse settings disable "tapping"

Why has the mouse on my acer inspire notebook has stopped working?

Fn+F7 is the key combo to enable (and disable) the touch pad. Try it and see if it wakes the mouse up again.
