Hello The 740 is NOT EVER!!! adjusted. It is factory set.It can be purchaced at any PRE-set rating from 30-75 LBS.You MUST match the rating of the old one.If in doubt use the 30# to be safe.

Why does my new water heater not have a yellow tag on the pressure relief valve?

The tag should be on there, not having it won't cause you to fail inspection might want to ask whoever did the install if they removed the tag.
In case your wondering here is what the "yellow tag" tells you

Once the hot water heater fills, the relief valve opens, how can the water level or pressure be adjusted , or is the valve faulty?

The relief f valves are preset for something like 150 psi. I doubt you have that much water pressure. I would just replace the valve. There is NO adjustment.

My pressure relief valve on my boiler is allowing water to pass through constantly.how do i adjust it to stop the water flow? only have about 15 pounds of pressure in system

Even a small amount of crud on the rubber washer/sealer can cause the valve to seep. Some valves can be taken apart and cleaned but it will be better to replace the valve. They can be found on line for around $12 or more. You will have to shut off the water in take valve and drain most of the system unless you have a main line shut off valve so the system wont drain back into the boiler. These valves are usually set at 30PSI.

My relief valve slowly drips when my boiler runs, fills up a 5 gallon bucket in a day, when it runs alot. this is new ,

Is the pressure in the boiler higher than the set pressure of the relief valve? If it is, there is a problem that the relief valve is trying to correct.
If not, did you try making the valve open?
Be careful, but step back, lift the lever and briefly let the relief valve discharge into a bucket of some sort, maybe you could put some old rags in it to keep from spraying out at you. If there is sediment in the valve this may flush it out.

Hello,This valve is pressure only. The model XL is pressure & tempature for a hot water storage/heater tank(has the stick). You need to know male or female thread and the relief # setting of the old one.The info is on the tag on the old one.

How do you adjust the pressure on a watts regulator to increase the flow of water?

Turn it clockwise to increase pressure on a watt's pressure relief valve. You will have to gradually adjust and check pressure till you get it to desired pressure. You don't want to exceed safe pressure due to damaging water lines or fixtures.

Why vent hole has been provided on the venting pipeline of pressure relief valve.

A vent hole is required on a pressure relief valve to allow excess 'dangerous' fluid or gas to escape as required in a controlled manner normally via another pipe.

How do I set my water pressure regulator.

On the top of the regulator is a stem/threaded rod with two nuts on it.

Loosen the bottom nut and that will allow you to turn the stem, which adjusts the pressure.

clockwise usually increases pressue, although I have encountered PRV's (Pressure Reducing Valve) that decreases pressure with a clockwise turn.

When A PRV starts malfuntioning, they often cannot be adjusted and need to be replaced or rebuilt.

Boiler leak

Hi, it appears you have a defected relief valve. you can try one solution. lift the handle on the relief valve and let some water out. sometimes that can flush out materials thats blocking the stem in the valve. if it's still leaking it must be replace.

If this doesn’t work for you please write back. Thanks,
