I have an Insignia 42" plasma HD tv. It turned off while watching it. when I tryed to turn it back on I could her click on and I got the green light but it went to red and i could hear it click off. I found a 4a fuse on the power supply(not the 8a main fuse) blown. I replaced it but it does the same thing, any ideas?

Do you know for what the 4A fuse was? Was it on a separate assembly?

I would guess the 8A is protection for the entire unit and the 4A for the high voltage supply for the plasma display.

Replacing the fuse once is fine since they can fail from metal fatigue; expanding and contracting with power on/off cycling.

In some 45 years of electronics service, I've seen about 2 failed transformers but 10s of thousands of failed semiconductors.
The type of failure and the fact that the 2nd fuse didn't blow points to the failure of a semiconductor that shorted and failed causing the fuse to blow. Now the failed part isn't drawing any power at all and is open (infinite) and wouldn't be hard for a tech to find.

My Sansui HDPDP4200 42 inch Plasma stopped powering up. When I hit the power button (both on the TV or by the remote) the green light comes on for about 2 seconds then shuts off. I tried to turn it back on...

Plasma TV's are notorious for power supply problems, its most likely failing capacitors in the power supply. If you can find a repair shop i would take it in, otherwise you might also be able to find a replacement power supply board online, but its a crapshoot to find a good one so its better to try and repair/rebuild the one you have. If all else fails its just time for a new TV. It sucks, i know, but i see so many 2-3 year old TV's failing its like a plague of the repair shop.
