Well Carrefour is a French chain, so I doubt they do an English version. Run the French one through Google Translate. Use the Document tab or the Website tab.

Probably your CD/DVD are not in first secuence in booot. So, if you log in your bios, in boot secuance change it and select CD/DVD as first choice of boot.

You can download the pdf manual in french from its official site.
1)Go to the link http://software.canon-europe.com/
2)Under multifunctionals select PIXMA MX310
3)Select your OS and select your language as French and give submit
4)You can find the user guide in french at the last.
You can download in whichever language you need.

To access it it is on the bottom and you have to remove the screws
but you should BACK UP FIRST

You can change some language settings in Control Panel/Regional/Languages, but the toolbars and others will stay in French.
It's a great chance to learn French !
The retailer may be able to help you-take it back and ask.
