I suspect your driver. Because Windows Vista has some Pre-package driver for some devices. You need to install the Driver for your Modem on Windows XP

if a software/product is not compatible with vista, it is best not to use with vista. Either switch to xp, or buy another product which is compatible with vista. Most adpators nowawadays are compatible with vista, and i do NOT recommend buying a d-link product.

Dfm-560is-in modem driver by d- link for vista -

The modem that you have is not on the compatibility list for Windows Vista. The drivers are not available on DLINK sites anywhere in the world.

I am looking for a driver for my sartusb56 modem that supporst Vista64

http://www.driverfiles.net/Modems/Smart-Link/SmartUSB56-/-ST-Microelectronics-Pegas.USB-Modem/download/page,show,13473,854,2,.html

Here is a site to DL the Driver for your Modem.

This link takes you to the Windows Compatable Driver Download.

If this file does not work then your modem isnt supported on Vista. (Unfortunately)

You can contact the manufactuerer directly and ask if they plan on releasing a Vista compatible dirver :S (most will just a matter of when :S)

(you may be forced to revert to Home or XP or Windows 7 Media Center)
