HI I hope I have reached Sea Breeze because I see someone had the same or similar problem as we are having from our GE GSS25... side by side refrigerator. this person wrote: "Water now comes out but only for a short time then stops. When water stops pouring light turns off. LED lights for crushed ice and cubed ice will turn on only for a short time after hitting buttons. Lights turn off when trying to dispense and will not get ice" For us we hear a clicking noise all the time. Now the lighted numbers in the refrigerator showing the degree of coldness/temp of both frig and freezer turn off and we catch it and turn them back on. The problem started when the water from the frig dispenser would work intermittently. Now it does not work at all. Ice doesn't come out of the dispenser either but yet the freezer will make ice into the bin inside the freezer. The lights on the frig dispenser are dim and turn off. If you touch this light button by the water dispenser and turn it "on" it turns off the lighted numbers in the refrigerator showing the degree of coldness/temp of both frig and freezer and the clicking stops!! As soon as you hit that light button by the water dispenser again, the lighted numbers in the frig turn back on. This frig is going down fast!! I assume it is the compressor, the compressor fan or the mother board.

SOURCE: kenmore frig ice machine doesn't make cube ice

Normally, the ice "cubes" are crescent shaped. The most likely cause for "crushed" ice is that the ice maker isn't getting enough water on its refill cycle after ejecting the tray. Becuase there isn't enough water, the ice looks crushed...it's actually shattered.

Check the water inlet and chute to the ice maker. Sometimes they freeze and have to be manually defrosted. A hair dryer will do the trick. Also check the water chute and be sure it isn't partially frozen.

Start there...if no luck you could also have a failing water filter or sticky water solenoid valve.

SOURCE: ice dispensor only dispensing crushed ice - not cubed

The spring coming off the rod will also cause this problem, also the bypass flap may be stuck open, always check the simple things first, hope this helps.

SOURCE: only puts out crushed ice

Pull out the ice bin and set aside. On the back wall of the freezer where the auger drive coupling is, to the right and down below the locator pin, is a square opening....make sure that the actuator is in the down position. if stuck in up position, it will always crush the ice. We have had the same problem with our frigidaire. The actuator is connected to the "crushed ice" solenoid.

Ice maker works, but cannot get cold water function to work

Dual water control valve on rear of your refrigerator. The side for the dispenser must be defective and the pair need replaced. It can be OHM tested or someone can unplug that side and check for 120 volts ac while someone presses dispense water. Sea Breeze

No drink water come out. however ice maker still work.

Your refrigerator separates the water control into two parts. One side for water and the other side for dispenser. Have someone unplug the dispenser side and test for 120 volts at the female plug disconnected to the dispenser side while someone presses dispense water. You should show the voltage. Another way of testing to OHM both coils and see is open. shorted or almost same measurement of OHMs The part number for the water control valve is Click Here=> WR57X10032 If need you may contact me here on Fixya or my Forum=> Appliance 911 My contact information is located above the Fixya Ad on my blog here=> Sea Breeze Appliance Parts and Technical Services, www.pcappliancerepair.com Thanks, Sea Breeze

The water dispenser on our GE Adora refridgerator (DSS25KGRA) stopped dispensing water. The internal icemaker still makes ice and the door unit dispenses ice both cubed and crushed. Could the water line be...

Most of the time it is the half of the dual water control valve on rear of refrigerator. The part number Click Here=> WR57X10032 Usually the coil on that side will go bad before buttons or controls. You can test that side by setting a test meter on AC voltage and you should read 120 volts while someone presses dispense water on front. There are two sides one plugs into icemaker side and other water dispenser. When replaced they both come as a kit. Refrigerator is warm in top half only

This will need to be checked out soon. If you are interested in doing this yourself you will need to let me know. Hopefully your refrigerator is only having a problem with a bad defrost heater and defrost thermostat. I will not say that I have a simple answer on the problem but the most likely reason is a burned out defrost heater. I will be back soon with everything you will need to consider,
