Good day,
An ice maker is an accessory. It would not cause the refrigerator itself to not function.
Here is a list of the major reason a refrigerator will not function.
I don't know what you mean by "broke".

Items that will cause a refrigerator not to cool.....
1. Defective thermostat
2. Defective freezer fan motor
3. Defective defrost timer
4. Defective defrost thermostat
5. Defective defrost main heater.
6. Defective condenser fan motor
6. Defective compressor overload protector
7. Defective compressor start relay
8. Defective compressor start/run capacitor (some models only)
9. Defective compressor
10. Restriction in refrigeration sealed system
11. Loss of refrigerant (leak)
12. Excessively dirty condenser
13. Broken wires, bad wire harness connectors, etc.
14. Defective fan motor switch (some models only)

How to repair Refrigerator ice maker that not making ice

Any chance you may have the model number of that refrigerator that you're having problems with the ice maker?
Appliance 911 Sea Breeze there are some ice makers that you can repair but as far as cost is not worth it ice makers wear out after several years there's a lot of work involved in making ice just replacing the part that broke doesn't fix the rest of the Ice maker

Ice maker wont work

The ice maker gets its water from the filter too. If there is NO water getting to the ice maker then look at the solenoid that lets the water into the ice maker. If water seems to be frozen to the underside of the Ice maker, take the unit out and allow it to dry before putting it back in.

My ice make has stop working

this unit has a wild ice maker on this unit, they used a standard ice maker but it also has an optic eye going across that control also. first you want to make sure your getting water to unit ..there is a flap on the left side of the freezer make sure that it is connected properly and not obstructing the beam that goes across to the right side ...you wont be able to see the beam but should be able to make sure the door flap is not getting in the way...you can actually remove ice maker and pull front cover off hold the left side flap down and jumpo out the ice maker on the "t" and "H" termiankl and advance the unit through the cycles... the most common problems wih this unit was either the gear on the ice maker broke or the optics went out on the unit... hope this helps repost with anymore questions

Rs2556sh model leakes water under fridge when ice maker cycles

If there was water in the water line it could have split. Check on the back where the water line goes from the inlet valve to the ice maker.

Amana ARB8057CSR Bottom Freezer Ice Maker Arm is broken & stuck

If water still continues going to the Ice Maker unplug the pair of wires on the back of the refrigerator that send water up to the ice maker. Now I see I am a little late answering your post, because I just happened to run across it. I was not here when you first posted the problem. Just let me know if you still need help, Thanks Sea Breeze
