GE refrigerator TFX22ZRSM water doesn't drain, instead the water runs on the bottm of the freezer and freezes up. Then I have to get the ice out or the water will run out onto the floor. I can't turn the temperature knob lower, it seems to be frozen stuck.

Try to unplug your unit for 3 hrs then plug it again, this way you will defrost all the ice that accumulate in evaporator.. check also your fan if it is working properly, also check the timer of defroster

Jthe water from the defrost cycle doesn't drain into the pan underneath. It freezes up and runs into the bottm of freezer until it must be defrosted on the bottom only.

The defrost drain which is behind the evaporator wall becomes frozen over or blocked by debris. You must remove the back wall to get at the drain and thaw it or snake it with wire to free the clog. After its clear, wrap some copper wire around the defrost heater and drop a length of it into the drain hole. This will prevent it from freezing over again.

I have a hotpoint refrigerator freezer that works fine except i am having issues with the ice maker. The tube carrying the water to the ice maker goes through a support cup. Water has started freezing in...

Make sure tube is pushed all the way into back wall tight. Then make sure tube angles downward so water completely drains. This is a goofy GE problem.

Water pools at bottom of freezer, freezes and water leaks out

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Water dripping from bottom of freezer casing

Your drain line is frozen. Ice thawed by the heater in the freezer normally drains down a tube into a pan on top of the compressor, where it evaporates from compressor heat. If the drain freezes the water runs into the freezer bottom instead of the tube then into your fridge. To solve this remove everything from your freezer and remove the access panel in the back or bottom depending on your model of fridge. Turn off or unplug the appliance. Upon removing the panel(s). you will likely see that the bottom of the freezer is full of ice. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to thaw ice and remove. In the very back bottom you will uncover the drainhole. I usually use very hot water and a shop vac to thaw the drain hole. When you finally clear it you will hear water running into the pan on top of the compressor. Somethimes it takes a lot of hot water to clear the drain. Hope this helps!

How do you unclog the condensation drain on a GE gss25wgma model refrigerator? have water pooling and freezing on the freezer floor, spilling out onto the floor within days after removing it. Thanks!

usually the drain hole underneath the evaporator in the freezer section can restrict with anything from ice to bugs. take a wire hanger and try to run it all the way down into the drain pan. if you have ice then try to poor cool water over it to defrost ice. then use hanger

Water accumulating in bottom of freezer and leaking onto floor

Yes the drain is clogged and the water that supouse to go through became ice so it make it worse.Put hot water in the drain hole until it runs through,it'll go to an evaporative pan on top of the compresor to keep it warm and vaporize the water.

Water Pooling and freezing on floor of freezer

most likely you have a frozen drain in the freezer section so that whne your refrig defrosts the water runs out into the freezer compartment instead of the drain pan underneath. the fix is to flush the drain with warm water to clear the obstruction. the drain can be reached either by removing the cover in the freezer area or by back flushing the line from beneath the refrig.
