My N7 M17FBA monitor wont turn on anymore. I was using it fine and got a new monitor for home and took the N7 to work. However when I got there it wont turn on. The power AC box shows a light but nothing shows on the monitor not even the power light. This is the 2nd N7 monitor that has done the same thing.

It can be poor dolder joint s where the DC input jack is on the board, or it may have blown the fuse inside, you need to check that first.

I have a 17" Scanport

You may buy any adapter with 12V, however, make sure the new one also matches at least the same Amp. of the monitor. Universal laptop adapters are ok to use.

LCD Monitor (Model Number M17FBA) Signal Out of Range

Hi
Start the computer in SAFE mode. F8 before Windows starts. Once in SAFE mode change the screen resolution to 600 X 480. Do this by right clicking anywhere on the desktop. Once done then reboot into normal mode.

Monitor times out and wont come back on.

Try this settings:
  • Click on Start | Control Panel | Power Options.
  • In the Power Option properties window, click on the Power Schemes Tab
  • Set the Turn off Monitor/ Turn off Hard Disks option when on Power (and also Battery for laptop users) to Never.
  • Now click on the Save as... button and assign a name to this power scheme... Let us call it 'Presentation' and then click on OK.
  • That's it congrats!

LOOKING FOR NEW OR REBUILT SCANPORT N7 (M17FBA) OR SOMEONE TO SERVICE THIS ITEM

The best thing is to look for broken ones on ebay and recycle the parts to get the 6 you have working again.

You may also want to try parts.com if you can get the part numbers.

Monitor stuck on black, menu buttons not responding

It's sort of a solution, but I work in a computer shop and got this screen in yesterday. I looked at it closely and it's actually the backlight that died. I pulled it apart and found that three of the 820uF/20V capacitors had swollen up. If you replace them then you should be fine, but I went for a different approach and took the inverter board from a laptop and put the in the screen and used an external power supply. It's a bit dark but it works fine now.
