My car only makes a clicking noise in the mornings when I start it. It starts right up, but I hear a tapping noise which last for about 30 seconds or so. I've had the alternator, battery and starter checked. All 3 are fine.

try going up a grade in viscosity ( from 15 w to 30 w)
ensure that only quality filter is used with an anti drain back valve in the filter El cheapo units miss this valve
possible worn hydraulic followers are allowing oil to drain back when stopped and it takes a few seconds to build up oil pressure
what exactly is the noise coming from , this is the car and truck section but will try to get you to the correct section if you let me know what the problem is exactly
HELLO; IF THIS NOISE IS COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHAT YOU ARE HEARING IS THE ELECTRIC AIR PUMP WHICH IS NORMAL UNLESS IT IS REALLY LOUD OR MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. tHIS PUMP IS PART OF THE EMISSION SYSTEM.
Those are pressurized pump in the fuel tank. You should have a inspection access plate on top of the fuel tank(s). If there is more than one tank be sure the relays and the system to change over tanks is working properly. First thing starting it , in the morning , turn all out side noise off, turn key to on position just short of cranking the engine over ,and you should be able to hear the pump in the tank , making a low growling noise , if it is working propery , this will last about 30 seconds while the pump builds pressure.
its proberly what they call a secondary air intake pump - what this does is increase the air flow only on cold start up - the colder it is the longer it stays on - if the noise gets louder and you will notice - get it changed - we have the same problem over here on the vauxhall omega and corsa's - bless em got to be GM
if this problem persists then you could check a few things on it, like on the times when its not even making a noise when trying to turn the key, use rubber/wooden object and tap the starter motor but not touching the contacts on the back. if this amkes it spring into life then it will be your starter motor if this does nothing then it will be a dodgy battery supply. does it also make like a screaching noise while trying to start? if so then definitely your starter motor
