Rca flyback makes a hiss and a squeal sound , no screen no sound from speakers

As has been asked many times on this site, about the power light flashing 3 times on model d52w19 chassis ITC222. i was wondering if the hiss then squeal sound is a definate indicator of a certain part failure. and if so what part is it.

I Have a RCA Home Theatre 61" Model #: P61830BL. Recently when trying to turn it on I get a Hiss and Squeak sound it turns on and off quite quickly 4 times then stops, never displaying a picture or sound, what could the problem be? And how much would this cost to fix?

I believe that I have a HV problem but need some direction? Initial problem was smell and a pop noise resulting in three LED power on blinks with a squeal.

you could have a bad flyback usually they will make a sort of a hiss as there is a short internal and even the after market replacement flybacks can be new and defective .. or loss of horizontal drive . also the two chemical ribbons that jumper over from the signal board to the smps /deflection board the white ribbon connectors can cause problems also if you have the black one's there probably alright . or a shorted crt could send it into a shutdown . there are a few things to check and it appears your on the right track you have changed the caps on the deflection pwr board . let me know how it goes please

Makes a squealing sound but there is no picture on the screen

Hi
The squealing sound that you hear most likely comes from the power supply.
And it is most often caused by a shorted horizontal output transistor.
But that would have to be determined by opening the set and testing it. It is a common problem in rca`s and other sets, it is often caused by a bad flyback(high voltage transformer) and/or associated circuitry.
Hope this help to clarify things a bit.
P.S please do not rate this answer(unless it helps)as it is only a suggestion/information.

RCA HD52w67 Started making a hissing , buzzing sound accompanied

The flyback transformer is super high voltage. Have it checked out by a shop, don't go near it. TV's can hold a charge for days.

RCA 52 INCH D52W20B WON'T COME ON

A 1995 60 inch rca good picture and sound. Then it started a cracking noise and a hissing sound, then the picture went blurry. then it was nice picture and sound, then it died. took the back off and turned out the lights. Plugged the tv in and out from the wall socket and there was a sparking noise and a small arc when i plugged it in and out a few times ,at the part that the power plug plugs into. The white part that is beside the white power plug part has thick red wire coming out of it and goes into another plug that has more red wires in it. but the big white part beside the power plug part looks burnt and has black powder on it. that part is probably the problem but maybe not, what it the name of that part and how much would it cost and is it plugged in or soldered.

Won't power on

my d52w19 chassis itc222 as posted most of the time wont turn on and the green light flashes three times every time it makes a small noise. sometimes it does turn on and you hear a little pop and the tv fires up.  latley there is a really high pitch noise that will slightly change pitch if you move the tv or put slight pressure on the top or botttom rear part of the chassis. thanks for the help as I have seen that this has been posted before without mention of the high pitch noise.

56" RCA projection TV (FLYBACK related problem)

the base to emitter of the hot will read short on a diode checker/test on ohms it vairies but typically about 50 ohms.e to c, or b to c should have very high resistance. unsolder the collector of the hot. make sure all solder is gone. now test the ohm between your tuner ground & the pad of the hot collector it should read open.

Sounds like you have a high voltage arc if the sound is not coming through the speakers. Possibly the high voltage leads are not pushed in all the way. Be careful! Make sure the set is off and you may also want to ground these leads before you touch them. Youcan get a nasty shock if you don't.
