Memory error on splash WP5 camera, whats wrong?

When the camera accesses the memory(card) a green LED will burn or flash. When it can't do what it wants, it will warn you.
A memory error, can be caused by lots of things. Like card full, card physically damaged, file system damaged. Too many folders, too many pictures. Wrong card (SD, SDHC or SDXC) cannot be used in every camera.
Check if you did put in the card correct (not the wrong way around) Check if all contacts on the memory card are clean, shiny and straight. Check if you did not switch the lock switch to the wrong position. Check if there are still pictures on the card, in an external memory card reader. put all the pictures you can find on the computer and than try to format the card. (in the computer, FAT 32) but after you put it in the camera. do a format in the camera too.

try to use memory card to other device like cameras, cellphones and other devices and if it still has error problem, your card may be the one defective. use other cards.

try to take pictures without using memory card. use only the internal memory of camera. if camera still display this error message, camera needs service.

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. the screen is black wether i use picture or a movie. Whet went wrong. please help i needeit graduations is when i need it most.

May be a HDD error or possibly a virus.

I would like to ask what memory card seem to be locked. is this literal so you cannot pull it out ? If so then the memory card might have been inserted in the wrong position.

Try a retailer near you to see if they will allow you to test your camera with a SD card from a display camera.

Check the slot and see if the pins inside are fine, no breakages, free from dust etc. Try turning the camera on and off (completely remove batteries etc).
