My washing machine wont start it keeps saying door open i opened and closed door several times it continues to say door open. I unplugged it to see if it would reset but it didnt.

This problem is usually the front door latch "interlock" is not engaging. This is the safety device which keeps you from opening the door and pouring gallons of water on your feet. When you close the door, if the machine DOESN'T recognize it's closed - all electricity is cut off and the machine does nothing. If the machine DOES recognize the door is latched, the latch will lock and you can't open the door (for about 90 secs after you turn it off or unplug it). Does the door LOCK when it's closed? If not, just close it harder several times. A medium "slam" almost always takes care of a "sticky" interlock - and it doesn't hurt anything.

i think that the catch on your machine either needs cleaning behind or its failing to click into place and its lose as it would keep running and it wouldnt stop through the cycle, see if you can open up where the catch goes into and see if its connecting properly if not see if you can tighten it up, hope this helps, x

Try unplugging the machine for 15 seconds. After it is plugged back it open and close the door several times. I know this sounds weird but it resets the safety circuit that sometimes shut these machines down. There may be some other safety reset sequences specific to the machine (you can search these on the net) if the one I told you doesn't work. Please rate my answer so I get points for it.

First I suggest to try unplugging the unit for 60 seconds to reset the control board. If that doesn't work then open the dispenser and remove the softner and bleach container. There is a cord near the front you can pull to open the door lock. If you still have issues with your door lock after manually opening the door, you will need to order and replace the door latch assembly.

Ihave a Hoover Vision HD washing machine and the "Door Security" light keeps flashing. I have looked in the manual and it says the door is not properly shut. However the door is correctly shut and as a result the machine will not operate . The door will open or close but will not start a cycle to wash. Any suggestions please????

Hold the option and select buttons at the same time for several seconds and it will "unlock" the control panel.

This indicates a "door open" condition. This can be caused by the door not being fully closed, loose electrical connections at the door switch, a faulty door switch, or the gasket on the door may be creased in. Make sure the gasket isn't preventing the door from closing fully. The door switch can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a bad switch. I would say that based on your problem description that the lid /door switch has a loose or faulty contact .. If you open and close it a few times..it starts to spin and yet when you open it.. it doesn't always stop the spinning.. It is either the switch or the actuator that bumps that switch.. That is where I would begin diagnosing the problem... Hope that helps..

Mine had several dE messages. Unpluged, waited 10 seconds, when pluged back in, it remembered which cycle and parameters I had it on, then locked the door and continued with no problem.
