You can do the first aids which migh help until the techician check it out.
1. Check you have too much ice. If yes you should try to melt the ice fast so your good will not spoiled. You can ither use a hair dryer to meld if fast or warm water and remove any part of ice that can be taken out by hands.
2. Second you can clean the condenser which is on the back of you refriigerator from any dust with a brush and or blower or a vacum cleaner. this must be done once a year for better performance.
Their also some posibilities for your problem but all need special knowladje and skills and licence for dealing with freon gas.
So if you are lucky and is not something very serius the above tips can help and sometimes can solve your problem.
Good luck.
So probaply you have a techical problem as below:
Problematic thermostat, can not be fixed must be replaced.
Freon leak but less posible, authorised techician with licence can only deal with freon gas.
Evaporator fan, temperature probe, electronic control board are some other posible problems.
So if your fridge is less than ten years old it worth a profetional test and an estimated repair cost.

The coils are clean and there is NO ice in the freezer or on the outside of the freezer. What else could be the problem? I need to know if I should just go buy a new freezer before I get charged for a Sears service call.
