Our handheld Riccar Gem R-4 stopped working. I looked and the bag was super clogged... oops. I cleaned it up but the machine won't turn on. Is there a fuse or breaker or ... is the motor shot?

Riccar uses an external thermal reset which is more reliable than most brands which use a thermal reset built into the motor. On your Riccar it will be on the back on the bottom left. It is a little tiny button that you will hear "click" when you push on it if it has been popped. If not it will not push in and you won't hear the click. The older models did not all have a reset button. If you have to keep pushing the reset it means that most likely you have a clog somewhere or the bag is full. It's rare but occasionally a thermal reset button may go bad and need replaced.

Where is the reset button on riccar supraquick

Link below to company with some info and contact info

One place it says if your vacuum has a thermal overload reset see owners manual if vacuum will not start. It also says make sure hose is not plugged and filter and bag are good.

Manual below has a troubleshooting guide

Riccar r30d I have checked the hose and tried the reset. The bag was just put on and I took it off and put on again. When I plug it in now the lights turn on but nothing at all happens.

When you press the reset button you must make sure to push it in far enough. You may need to use a small tool to make sure you are getting it reset. Your Riccar vacuum is still under warranty. If it is not the reset button I suggest you take it back to your dealer for repair.

Why does the riccar vacuum reset button not depress?

In my experience the Riccar requires reset when it has ingested something that jams the roller such as the fringe of an Oriental carpet. Be sure to clear any such obstruction, then I use a ball point pen to press the button. It does not move very far to accomplish a reset.

Where is the reset button on the Riccar 8995

The reset button on the Riccar 8955 is located on the back of the vacuum cleaner, at the very bottom, right above the rear wheels. You can push the reset button with a ball point pen or something similar.

Riccar 1500p vacuum won't start

it has a thermal fuse that shuts it down if it over heats. Check the hose , wands and floor tool for blockage and check your bag and filters as well.
