Green hue on all inputs

Hi, my LG 42PX5D-UB is now just 1 month beyond 2 yr warranty and has poor color quality. The picture was flickering for a couple of weeks and now all input video sources (Cable Box, Off-Air, DVD, VCR, SD,HD) have a green hue. I have tried adjusting video menu options - color, contrast, Red/Green, etc, but can't adjust it out. What was originally a blue sky in a movie is now green. The white background on menu buttons is now green...It is like watching the Matrix all the time.

Most likely there is a failure in the video processing. The flickering was from the failing components breaking down.

Your set can be serviced by an experienced tech who has spare boards and the facilities to service your set.

Contrast really dark but seems to improve after the tv has been on several hours

Hi:
You may have a problem with the inverters in the unit, they are responsible for lighting up the back panel. Check or have checked the power supply voltage to the inverters, should be around 18-24 volts DC. Also leaky capacitors on the power supply will cause this issue as well as leaky or puffy capacitors on the inverter.

Poor quality color with mostly green tones

Optical Block in your TV is going bad. If you don't have any extended warranty - It is pretty expensive repair and is not worth of fixing it in most cases.

17 yr. old 35" RCA loses color intermittently. Picture & sound ok

Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.

Color convergance

The green hue (I had it too) is a result of the optical block failing.

Picture dissappearing after 2 minutes or so.

Try another HDMI source and swap cables; see if that's it. The other fix is to repair the HDMI input amp/buffer on the set...accordianman

LG - 42PX5D Input switching problems

I think the problem stems from the HDMI port and scart ports, i have read somewhere on a sound and vision web site that these two conflict and when HDMI is in it only sometimes blocks out the scart signal. This could be what the problem of the freezing is, as when all said and done its just a very large pc monitor; and look at the trouble they can get in!.
