LG FLATRON L1950B-SF 19" LCD Monitor Logo
Anonymous Posted on Sep 06, 2010

LG Flatron L193ST. Relatively old model. The monitor screen stays dark upon connecting with a power socket and the power LED blinks rapidly in a yellowish amber colour. A quiet pulsating sound emits from the monitor, which does not sound natural to me. Is it worth trying to repair the monitor or buy a new one?

L193ST common problem!! solution is only by replacing 2 capacitors 470uf 25v located on the power supply pcb inside the lcd they are neer the long cable connector
remove the 8 screws from the lcd back panel including the holder screws,
use a thin metal stick like a knife and insert it between the back pannel and the front black panel but slowly remove the black panel not to scratch it
remove the metal protection panel 4 screws
the power pcb becomes visible
remove all connected plugs and the 3 screws
desolder the 2 capacitors and replace them
assemble back your lcd and enjoy
30min time of work 5$ cost

You may need to replace the diode P6KE10A. Test if it is shorted.. Otherwise fault will persist

I just bought an LG Flatron LCD 295LM Monitor/TV today and was told that it works and just needed a power adapter. The monitor's power ratings are 15V 5A but I am using an IBM power adapter with 16V...

I have a feeling that the monitor has the problem, monitor can take +/- 10% voltage variation.
You said the backligts are on, do they stay on? You should be able to see the glowing screen in the dark room, if it does stay on, then you may have T-CON board problem.
I cannot see how the seller says that it works when the person does not have the power supply to try it out first.

My LG 17" CRT monitor , screen is blinking rapidly with slightly dark shadow. pl. help

If it is an older monitor, this may just be a sign of aging. It is possible that the adjustment knobs and buttons on the front, bottom, or side of the monitor may have been moved. Try adjusting those to see if you can tone out the problem. Also check to make sure the monitor cable is secure to both the monitor and the computer. You may also try plugging the monitor's power cable into a different outlet. Finally, you could try adjusting your video properties in Windows, but that's probably not the problem unless you have been in there before.

LG Flatron - green power led blinks twice

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed LG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Green Power LED is lit- But no image on the screen

Hi, I have just repaired one of these with the same problem. Turned out to be a 680uf 25v capacitor that had failed. Capacitor was visibly domed. Easy repair with new capacitor. Hope this helps.
