WARM REFRIGERATOR TEH FOOD SIDE OF THE REFRIGERATOR STAYS WARM,NO MATTER HOT HIGH YOU TURN IT UP

I have the same problem. First, my ice was half melted when dispensed, and ice cream got really soft, then meat started thawing in the freezer. Now milk is turning in the fridge side sooner than it should, and while a little cool, it does not reach a satisfactory temp. I am now using my freezer as a fridge, since fridge is not cold enough. Freezer is barely cold enough to keep milk. I have cleaned condensor, etc. with compressed air (was pretty dirty) and intend to remove the freezer back to check for ice. I am not far from throwing it in the yard and venting my frustration with a sledgehammer before ordering a new unit.

Same problem here, ever since I bought it. I suspect it was a return, or "used" when I bought it new. Milk does not get cold enough for me (I'm a big milk drinker), even when turned to highest level of cold, which is 34 degrees. I had repairman out 4 different occasions and they all basically told me it was fine, that I was nuts. I have another GE fridge that keeps milk so cold you can barely stand it, and the temp is only half way. What gives? Also, the water dispenser lever broke off. I will never buy another Frigidaire again.

Bill, would defrost issues explain both sides not getting cold enough? I was a little disappointed that rust has formed around my factory water/ice dispenser (beneath the paint) after only a year or two after purchase, and am also wondering if it was a mistake to buy a Frigidaire to start with....Is it possible that the unit I purchased was already several years old when I bought it new?

Check the freezer side back wall, do you see Ice forming on that wall?

If so you have a defrost issue. Also check to make sure you fan in the freezer side is running. If not, than cold air from the freezer cannot make it to the fresh food side.

I am factory authorized for Frigidaire Appliances and am confident I can assist you in this repair.

Our crosley refrigerator freezes our food, and if you turn it down food get's to warm the refrigerator is 2 yrs. old

Assuming your food gets warm when both control settings are at normal positions, or for that matter, freezes, in the refrigerated section, at normal positions, your problem will most likely be caused by a faulty cold temperature control not sensing temperature correctly, and needs to be replaced.

My compressor runs but I think it shuts off and stays off too long...the box gets to warm and the ice starts to melt before it starts again

First of all, before you do anything, clean the coils under the refrigerator. I couldn't tell you how many refrigerators I've 'fixed' that needed nothing more than the coils cleaned. Dirty coils can cause a multitude of problems, many of them with the exact same symptoms that would be expected when refrigerant components fail. Dirt is the #1 enemy of any refrigeration unit.

If that doesn't help, since both sides of the refrigerator get warm before the compressor kicks back on, I'd suspect the fresh food temperature control thermostat. Not an easy fix for the average homeowner unless you've got specific skills in appliance repair.

Before you do anything, try this. Turn the fresh food thermostat all the way up, the set the freezer setting at a higher than normal setting. The way the system works is that the fresh food thermometer turns the compressor on and off and the freezer control simply controls how much of the cold air from the freezer is diverted to the fresh food compartment.

If you turn the fresh food thermostat higher, the compressor will run longer and adjusting the freezer control to a higher setting will allow less cold air into the fresh food compartment, forcing the compressor to run longer in order to cool it to the thermostat setting.

If the settings have to be abnormally high, this is a workaround, rather than a fix. To get a permanent fix, you'll probably have to replace the fresh food control thermostat.

I hope this was helpful to you or to anyone reading it.

I have a refrigerator that is 10 years old it is a tpx24pbe bb model number and the refrigerator side is staying at 50 degrees what is the problem?

On my GE side by side (model GSS20IEMDWW), a warm fresh food side, as well as iced-over evaporator coils in the freezer, was caused by the temp sensor in the fresh food side sending faulty data to the computer.

The temp in the fresh food side would climb because air could no longer pass over the iced-up coils in the freezer side.

For me, the faulty fresh food side sensor made the computer always thing the fresh food side was too warm, making it constantly run the compressor (thus icing up the coils).

If you do not have a coil icing problem in the freezer, then your fresh food side temp sensor may be telling the computer that the fresh food side is already cold enough.

Freezer side cold, food side warm not working

3 possible problems.... Machine is possibly not defrosting (if this is it, eventually the freezer will not work as well) The damper between the two sides is possibly not operating, or the fan on the freezer side is possibly not blowing the cold air into the fresh food side.

WARM REFRIGERATOR

Sounds like the damper isn't opening. Put you hand on the Left wall of the fridge side, at the top. If you feel No Air. Then there is your issue. Bad Damper Motor. Also check the back wall of the freezer, there sould be No Frost. If there is then you have a defrost issue. Not a damper problem. One more thing. Make sure when you shut the fridge door, the light goes out. About a half inch or so before the door is completly shut, the light will go out, if not then thats your issue. Let me know how you make out.
