My Pioneer VSX-27tx is stuck in standby mode, and won't turn on. Got any ideas?

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-816

The blinking usually means that the unit is in "protect" mode. Check the output transistors for a shorted condition and replace.

JUST PRESS ADVANCED SURROUND & ENTER FOR LIKE 3 SECONDS.. THAT WILL RESET THE SYSTEM CHIP INSIDE.. :)

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.

How do you troubleshoot a Pioneer VSX-1023 A/V receiver?
Try to do the factory reset on the Pioneer:
Switch the Pioneer into standby (turn it off).
1. Simultaneously press old the buttons on font panel for 5 seconds - BAND & STANDBY/ON
2. "Reset" on the front panel press
AUTO SURROUND/STREAM DIRECT
3. Then press ALC/STANDARD SURROUND

OR

Simultaneously pressing "down" and "on/off" for 5 seconds to reset the Pioneer

Flashing Blue is not defined in the manual.

Have you tried changing the Auto Standby switch to ON?

You can prove if the sub amp will respond to a known good input by TURNING ITS VOLUME DOWN tp start and just feeding it ANY RCA output from the receiver while playing, say, FM (to keep it simple). That way you would known in which direction the problem actually lies (internal or external).

Pioneer Elite vsx-27tx receiver with no bass!?
There may be a subwoofer mute function on your amp. The sub out is nothing more than a preamp output with a low frequency response. It is meant to be amplified by an external amp. Either check your powered subwoofer for operation or look through your operators manual for a sub mute function.

Standby light on pioneer vsx-d308 receiver
I have the same problem. my sandby light is on but my receiver will not turn on! I checked my power going into the power supply board that was good. But i do not have power going to the transformer or the receptacle. And both of my fuses r good. check ur fuses and go from there . If u know how to get a power supply. please let me know.

No DTS sound / RESET
Hi I have a Pioneer VSX D908S which is basically the same amplifier as yours with the difference that the one I have has no THX certification, as a matter of fact the service manual is the same, and mine has the same problem. The prblem is located in the DSP board, if you are able to remove the bonett, you will see on the right side a metal cover, remove it, once you have removed it, look for a IC9374 it is located, -looking this board in front to you- almost at the left upper corner, this IC has the PDK042A on it, with a soldering iron resolder this circuit. This is common problem with this pioneer amplifiers, and this procedure not always works, the final solution is to buy the DSP board but it is expensive. Good luck! Miguel

NO SOUND FROM TV FOR DTS FORMATS I have a Pioneer DVD player Model dv 366 s which was purchased in year 2003. It is a plays 5.1 / DTS cd. I have connected it to my Denon amplifier Model 1604. and have hooked to my 29" Sony TV. I do have a HT system, comprising of 2 front, 2 rear, 1 centre and a subwoofer. When I play a DTS dvd disc, the sound comes only from the connceted speakers and not from the TV set. Is there any specific reasone for this. I have tried several DTS dvds, but all respond in the same manner i.e. no sound from the TV. Pleas let me know if there is any technical reason for the same. Regards JAYANT, Mumbai, INDIA
