I got a pen drive from kingston brand of 4 gb capacity. it was working well for about 3 months. now it is accessible by my system. not even light indication is shown when i insert it in my system. i even tried it by checking device driver in my system. it shows as unrecognized device and displays like this "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". clarify my doubt i bought it few months ago only...........

It is a hardware error. Sync could not be established due to the malfunctioning drive clock generator, try formatting it on some other computer with VISTA OS. if not then its damaged and nothing cant be done.

I would say do a firmware wipe but seeing as you have no access to the drive at all I would say your probably SoL and in need of a new drive

Pen drive is not detecting

Hi,
1. Connect your pen drive to some other USB ports present at the rear side of your desktop pc.
2. In case of laptop, try connecting to some other available usb ports and check
3. In still not detected, then test your pen drive in some other systems.
4. If still not working, then it implies that your pen drive got detects.
5. If your pen drive is original kingston then you can claim the warranty from the place where you got it.

normaly pen drives CANNOT be more than 2GB....all those pen drives being sold as 4GB, 6 GB are just fakes....when u buy them new they will have 4GB...it's in compressed format, once u have an error/issue, and format it....once that'd done then it will come down to 1 gb or 2 gb...
with respect to password in pen drive i have not come across that in my exp...so cant help there...

if you see your pen drive properly you will find a lock that you need to switch to other side for unlock device

this lock make device write protected

Unable to format 64 gb kingston pen drive

I am having 64 gb kingston pen drive.
But after formatting from command promt its file system is RAW an i cannot use the drive now.
Beacuse it is showing properties as 0 bytes.
The drive cannot be formatted.
