The output video needs to be enabled on the laptop. Normally this connector is not active. There should be a function key that has the outline of a CRT screen on it. Using the ctrl key and that key at the same time will toggel the output video connector on/off. If that does not resolve the problem, please update this with your exact setup including cables.
Thanks,
Dan

I have been using this Acer projector but it suddenly locked. The display shows the acer logo, no signal and a lock. I can not unlock it. What must I do to unlock it. I am not using any password.

it means the projector
locks on this source type and there is no such type of input
signal found,

so you need to try new input source type . means : if you use for example VGA, try to use other input type such DVI , HDMI

No picture

Hi, Possibly either of 2 reasons: 1. Your player is not sending any signal to the Optima meaning it is the one in question and not the projector; or 2. Your Optima lost its input signal, go through the signal source selection menu, try manual selection & set it to where your source/player is connected. Hope this works out for you, if not pls post again . Good luck and kind regards.

MY VIEWSONIC PJ402D DLP PROJECTOR WILL ONLY DISPLAY IN BLACK AND WHITE.

Hello,
If you are connecting the projector to the signal source via S-VIDEO cable this not uncommon. It usually happens when one of the connectors or the cable is broken. Try a new or different cable. If problem persists examine the connectors on both end of the cable and the one in the projector as well as the one in the signal source(pc, laptop etc) to see if there is a hardware fault. If all is good then the problem is internal with the S-VIDEO connector. In that case your other option is to use VGA.
Have a good day, hope this helps.

I am trying to connect it to a dell laptop with a vga connection and the projector says no signal.

make sure the computer is set to extended desktop or clone desktop. make sure the video output (resolution, refresh rate, etc) is in the range of the projector. If the Dell was powered up when you plugged in th eprojector, reboot. make sure the active input source is the one that you connected to the computer.

this is going to be a bummer, but have tried to use another cable? to check if there is an issue with the cable try using another device that uses the same. if it works with it it may depend on the configuration of on your operating system which may vary

No Signal when plugging into laptop

On your laptop you have the ability to toggle the external display on/off/both. On several laptops I see, it is a combo of teh Function Key+F4 (or F5). The key for your laptop (you did not provide type) should be marked with an image of a projection screed or a monitor in a color matching function key; often blue.

With everything connected, press these keys to toggle from Laptop Display Only to Projector Only to Both.

If the problem is not your laptop, then verify the input source that the projector is looking for via it's menus or a button on the remote. Toggle the source if required.
