We have Distinctions Model (7.1 cubic ft. super capacity plus gas dryer) It's running, but not getting hot most of the time. We removed the bottom panel & can see the glow plug get hot & ignite the gas, but then it shuts off. Also, the auto regulate knob won't advance when on More Dry/Less Dry function

Please know your 'GLOW PLUG' should stay on 'only long long enough' to ignite the gas...

Check that these components are working properly, if you are handy with a multi-tester you can track down the failing component.

I have whirlpool duet gas dryer. It is leaving brownish moon shaped streaks on my white clothing. I have looked inside and cannot find anything that looks like it is causing this. Can you help?

Hi,
The cycling or operating thermostatis often the problem when a dryer runstoo hot, but there are also other things that can make it run hot also.

Here is a tip that I wrote that gives more details about why a clothes dryer will get too hot.

Dryer running but no hot air and clothes are not drying? Is heating element burned out?

Good chance it is. Make sure it is getting power first. You can check with a voltage meter.

Dryer wont stay hot

Assuming you have removed the lower access panel (two or three scres all the way at the bottom of the lower front panel) to view the glow plug (ignitor), if you see the ignitor cycle on but the gas does not ignite after the machine initially heated in the beginning of the cycle you will want to replace your gas valve coils. They are the round black things mounted to the top of your gas valve.
This should solve your problem.
Good luck to you!!

Cabrio dryer won't get hot only warm

Clean all lint out of the exhaust vents tubes You will be surprised to see it work again
A moister sensor detects lint build up and shuts the heat off or nearly off at all times
