I have an Ascaso Dream - pod only version. I would like to know if the portafilter is replaceable. I want to exchange it with the model that does both ground and pod coffee. Thx, Rasmus from Denmark

Hi Rasmus,
If your model is pod only - fixed version - then it is not possible to replace the group.
If you have a pod portafilter then it is possible.
You will need: . a new portafilter and ground converter kit Ground coffee converter Kit ASCASO porta filter complete

if your grounds are tamped down too tight, the steam can't get through it.

SOURCE: Ascaso, Innova, Dream Heater not working

If you are confident that your heating element is dead and are filling adventurous enough to replace it- you can get one at:
http://www.1st-line.net/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=review&item=i365&type=store

I saved myself shipping and repair costs by having it replaced by a friend. He took pictures and marked wires & connectors before removing the broken heater.
Yeah,, this looks to be systematic failure with this machine. Very disappointing- for this kind of money, one would expect the machine to work a bit longer after warranty expires.

SOURCE: Ascaso Dream water leak & bad shots

Hi
Sounds like you have a leak in the system. If your handy, you can remove the top. Remove everything. Water tank included. Unplug the machine. Now turn the machine upside down on a towel. There are 2 screws behind the brew head. Remove them, then lift the machine off the top and set it right side up. Now you can see the inside of the machine where the boiler is. Do not touch anything inside the machine. Replace everything and plug the machine in. Now turn the machine on and try to make a shot the same way. This should show you where your trouble is. Once you see where the trouble is, unplug the machine. Contact seattlecoffeegear.com, or 1st-line.com. They can help.

Water pressure

Hi Jane,
Water pressure can be effected by blockage in the group or pump or if the coffee is too fine or too much coffee was used. Try without the portafilter to see if water comes out- if it splutters or only steams comes out -try descaling. If nothing comes out you may have to replace the pump or solenoid. https://www.bluestarcoffee.eu/ascaso-10-x-descaler-sachets-3269-p.asp

Ascaso Dream steam wand leak

Hi Emily,
You have 2 issues.
Steam wand leaking while making coffee - This indicates that the seals on the steam tap o rings need replacing.
Coffee pouring over the handle when making coffee - this indicates that the group gasket needs replacing.

Replacing the group gasket is easy takes 10 min
Replacing the o rings on the steam tap may take a little longer..
All you need is a group service kit Ascaso gasket kit Dream Arc Basic

Ascaso Dream Leaking Water

Correct, inside the grouphead their is a gasket which is the same diameter as the filterholter which make the perfect fit so the presure of the water will not leak out. So now either the gasket is damage in one point so you have the leak from that point. Second the gasket have become hard so it can not make perfect fit with filter holder. In both above case you have to replace the gasket. Finally their is aposibility that the gasket is dirty with coffee remains and again we can not have a perfect fit. You can use a hard brash with the water running so you can clean the gasket.
With this case you can unsrew also the shower from the grouphead and clean it also for better coffe results

Acaso Dream espresso machine no crema

Are you getting enough atmospheric bars of pressure? Should be around 9 or so. if not that may be your problem... also if your portafilter is pressurized (there will be a plastic disc under the screen) try removing it and see if you are getting crema then... Helped alot with mine. I also shaved the bottom to make it bottomless but that may be alot further than you want to go.

I have a Francis Francis X3 machine and would like the attachment to use ground coffee as at the moment I can only use pods.

If you have an X3 Trio you are out of luck.
If you have the older model, you can buy 'ground coffee conversion kits' or you can use a ground coffee portafilter from an Ascaso Dream/Arc etc.
