The most common cause of that symptom in that model are the CP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors. You can get the RCA repair kit by that same name from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the capacitors and the CD with repair instructions.

Install the repair kit called the CP150, CP120 and CP114 repair kit available from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains instructions on CD also.

These units are famous for loose solder connections at the high voltage transformer and for bad capacitors in the power supply. Have a repair shop check it out for you. You have to remove the Deflection PCB to do these repairs. Thanks

If this is a RCA Picture Tube Rear Projection, the Deflection Board will cause this problem. I do not know though if it is available.

First of all please check the following things:

Press the TV button. Make sure the TV is plugged in. Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is “live” by plugging in something else. Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the remote control solutions. The front panel controls may be locked (disabled). Use the remote control to unlock the front panel controls by selecting the Front Panel Block in the Parental Control menu and press OK to uncheck the box. The TV might be performing a periodic diagnostic check. Wait for a few minutes for the TV to turn on.

If still the problem persists then check the following:

Maybe the cable/air function is set to the wrong position. The channel might be blank — change channels. If you’re watching your VCR and it’s connected with coaxial cable to the CABLE/ANTENNA jack, tune the TV to channel 3 or 4 (whichever channel is selected on the 3/4 switch on the back of your VCR). Also check to make sure the TV/VCR button on the VCR is in the correct mode (press the TV/VCR button on your VCR). Check antenna connections. Make sure all of the cables are firmly connected to the jacks. Try adjusting sharpness function to improve weak signals. Closed-captioning might be on. Check Closed Caption in the Setup menu.

Take the back off the TV look where the wire from the power plug enters the TV. There is a small fuse on the board where the wire plugs into. If that fuse is blown, you have a power supply problem.

if the front led blinks 3 times slowly then shuts off its most likely the flyback. Its available at the following link for under 50.00 and they will provide free tech support on line so you can change it yourself takes about a half hour start to finish. You will need Flyback number 259296 Heres the link

Possible arching crt. which one red blue or green. HIgh voltage problem could be simple connection ... could be tube.. replacement of crts in these units are generally expensive to say.around 400 for parts and labor
