I have always had both screens,THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY PROGRAMS, FILES AND TASK BAR DO NOT COME ON THE #2 MONITOR AND I AM UNABLE TOUSE IT TO WORK WITH. IT ONLY SHOWS MY SCREEN AND NO ICONS. THE MOUSE IS ACTIVE ON BOTH. HOW DO I GET ALL THAT INFORMATION SO I CAN WORK ON THAT MONITOR????

  • Anonymous Sep 05, 2010

Clear questions? My #2 KOGi monitor IS enabled with my THEME picture not screen saver, the same as my laptop EXCEPT I repeat EXCEPT it does NOT show my icons, task bar! my curser IS active on both screens. I want to use the KOGi as an active working monitor. My "settings" will not open to allow me to check use as primary Monitor. What am I missing???

Check the default power settings. Start -> Control Panel -> System & Maintenance -> Power Options. The default will turn off the monitor from five to fifteen minutes. Moving the mouse should turn it back on. Make sure your video out is activated. On most laptops the key looks like lOl. And its usually in the F4-F8 range

Im not sure what you mean by getting the screen saver...maybe the secondary monitor is not enabled..and in this case..you have to enable it from the video driver settings ..or try the short cut..it is Fn+ F4 or the monitor function ....it is the function with a monitor on it ..and the secondary monitor will be enabled..
see that the F4 is not a must be one...it can be the f5 or f6 ..just try them if there not seam to be working ..or take a look to see which one is labeled with a monitor sign..and use i t..press Fn + that key ..

Follow these steps:
1
Check whether your monitor has a DVI (digital) or VGA (analog) port, both of which are generally built in. Contact your vendor if your laptop does not have either. In this case, you can use a special adapter to connect the external monitor. These adapters are model specific and should be bought directly from the vendor.

2
Connect one end of the DVI or VGA cord to the DVI or VGA port of your laptop and the other end to the monitor. Your laptop should automatically identify the external monitor as a new hardware device.

3
Press Fn + F2 to toggle the screen do it twice to get the display on both the screens.

If you are using any utility to do it like any software, i would recoment to download it from the website and then when you do the setup at that time you can select the dual dispaly.

Check your video card type and downlaod the utility from its website.

All you have to do is, at the settings (right click on a free space on the screen - properties - settings), to click on the screen numbered as 2, check the box "extend at this monitor" and the above box "use as main monitor". Hit apply and your main screen will be the external 17''.

Let me put it back in order:
    A. Choose monitor number 2. Your screen has to be like this:

    B. Choose extend at this monitor. Your screen has to be like this:

    C. Now you can check the "use as main window" box. Your screen has to be like this:

After the previous step the boxes will be grayed but the selections will be done. Hit apply and ok.

Sorry for my adhesion but at all the cases I set up 2 screen as main monitor this is way. Just take care that (at the 2nd monitor) you must first choose expand at this screen and then you will get the ability to choose use as main. If at your case this can not be done I'm suspect about the laptop's VGA. What is the brand / model?

I just hoolked up a Kogi l7 eh 17

It may be that your video card is too old, that probably is the problem since you are running Windows 2k. If not open up your monitor's menu and see if you can manually change the monitor's resolution. Newer monitors do that.

When pc left on after 15 minutes the screen keeps changing colours from reds /greens /greys/blues constantly is this normal

Maybe this is a Screen Saver, set to start after 15 minutes. Open up Control Panel then Appearance and Personalization, then Screen Saver to check on this and perhaps choose a more pleasant screen saver.

Looking for the three cables needed for a 17" KOGI L7CH LCD monitor. Where can I find these, please.

You need a signal cable, an audio cable and the power adapter. The first two are standard cables available at any retailer of computers and monitors or online. The signal cable is the type that has 15-pin "D-sub" connectors on each end. The audio cable will have a mini-stereo plug on each end. The power adapter is available from several online sources. There's an eBay auction currently running for the adapter you need.

that you can push to adjust brightness, size, vertical, etc;
