In replacing a LCD screen on my Kodak V1233 I touched the metal of the LCD screen on the camera's circuit board and it sparked. The camera now does not power on. Have I fried the circuit board and what are my options?

Hello, Faulty LCD unit.

Replace the CCD (if you can find one.. They used to be plentiful and cheap - sub $20). Otherwise, you'll need to replace the lens assembly. The camera is modular, so most repairs you can do yourself. There are videos on disassembly on YouTube.

If the camera does not turn on then it can be a failure in the main control board and much cannot be done from the outside than to try a reset with the battery out for sometime.
If so you can open tocheck for some loose links, jammed drive or series fusible links/resistors.
If not the mP canbe faulty or the power circuit can be damaged with a wrong adapter or a reverse battery.( just a chance)

If it makes you feel any better, the airport screener cannot damage your camera in any way.

there may be problem with the flash unit,better to contact kodak service.

The Easyshare Software cannot find the org. downloaded picture on C-Drive.
Right Klick on the picture and chose the connect to org. pic.
Find the org. picture and press enter.

Is the cracked visible? If yes the only way to fet it fix is to send it in a kodak repair center please call kodak toll free 1 800 235 6325., If the camera still in manufacture warranty and doesnt have customer induced damage you can send it for in warranty repair.,but if its out of warranty the repair cost ranging from $70.00-$80.00

take a pic connect to the PC and check for any distortion which i doubt would be for the pictures taken

Check out your local Kodak Repairer for new screen cost. LCD's are not repairable only replaceable.

You need to have a Repair manual with proper diagram..
