I have a 52" Samsung Series 5/ 530 Model LCD Flat Panel and I cracked the screen. The screen on the outside is not broke nor scratched but something hit it and now when I turn the tv on- it looks like i hit it with a hammer. How is this fixed? Can I do it myself?

Sorry,tv now it is not worth fixing, because the tv LCD screen panel are 90% important to the tv and it is in limited production by the tvs corporations,by replacing the tv LCD screen panel will cost the same as a new tv.Sorry tvs with a broken or damages LCD screen panels are tvs only can be used as salvages tvs only for it electronic boards for other tvs only now.
Not worth fixing,if the LCD screen panel is damage or broken.Because LCD screen it limited produce it will cost the same as a new tv.Might even cost more after the LCD screen panel part and labors. The LCD screen panel is 90% of the tv,broken or damage LCD screen panel not worth as a whole tv anymore. The tv now only worth as salvage electronics boards parts.
Sorry, not repairable, because the LCD,PLasma, and DLP screen are limited produced.Replacing the tv pannel screen will cost the same as a new tv.Might even cost more after the labors. The tvs screen is about 90% of the tv,that why when is broken or damage, now it only use for it electronics boards parts,or sell for it electronics boards parts that it.
Unfortunately it is not, The cost of the screen is just as much if not more than a new tv. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but in our shop we have seen may sets broken with the WII and it is a very sad day for our customers. Warranty will not replace a cracked or broken screen. There might be a small silver lining to this though, the boards in your tv are valuable for repair purposes. It is possible that you could sell the boards through e-bay to make up some of the loss, but you must list the correct part number. That is how people will search for boards, we have done this before and we have purchased boards for brands we normally don't work on.
If you have a crack in the screen, NO the panel will have to be replaced, sorry to give you the bad news, even if the set is in warranty, Sony will not replace the panel if it is physically broken. The cost to replace the panel out of warranty is cost prohibitive.
It is possible to fix but unfortunately the whole lcd panel is one unit so if it is on the inside or outside the whole thing will have to be replaced. The cost on such a thing is right around 3/4 of the price of the tv.
The LCD screen itself often cost more then the tv set itself. If you have accidental insurance you might see if they cover this, otherwise this will make a nice lava lamp like art display for a bedroom wall.......
