Rheem condensing unit fan motor failure?................3rd motor was replaced by contractor on 3 year old unit. Unit starts vibrating very badly and will also start vibrating when blocking airflow. All mounting screws are tight. Is there an issue going on with these GE motors? What is the issue here? Contractors have not seen this type of issue before. R-410A, Model: RANL-030-JAZ

Do you know if they replaced the motor with one that had the same horsepower rating & same RPM. I have heard that a motor with a higher horsepower rating will cause some vibration.

All 3 motors are GE, 1/6 horsepower and 1075RPM.

Could be the fan blade is the issue for vibration. Perhaps the blade was bent or somewhat damaged during failures or during the fan motor replacement process.

Might try replacing the blade. Be sure to install the correct blade. Pitch, number of blades as was on the original unit. If blade was replaced previously, the new blade may be pitched or sized incorrectly.

Rheem RAHE-036jas, fan CAP fails frequently. Why? Also, I need to check if CAP value is correct, and looking for manual, if possible.

you probably wouldnt get an oem replacement unless thru rheem dealer or distributor ---multi reasons on cap failure --dirty condenser coils--fan ---weather-- environmental--power supply interruption --- and those are the correct caps https://www.justanswer.com/hvac/b4b4e-old-rheem-model-rahe-042jas-size-capacitor.html

Condenser fan replaced one year ago, fan not turning but can hear motor

the answer to your problem is most likely the motor start capacitor. A AC motor can run in both directions. The start capacitor is used to cause the current to lag behined the voltage which determines the direction the motor will turn. Its posible the start and run capacitors are in one can. so changing one will change the other. However look for a wiring diagram. Do not asume that both capacitors are wired in properly. They may be fighting one another causeing premature failure.

Recently replaced entire central a/c - Removed 2,500 ton Rheem condenser - Unit is approx. 2-1/2 to 3 year old - 13 Seer - Interested in selling unit...Who made be interested in purchasing??? What would...

Hi, 2,500 ton unit would be the size of a 15,000sq.foot warehouse! I think you mean a 2 1/2 ton Rheem condenser. You could run an add under Craigs list.com, and if the unit is in good shape, I would ask no more then $600 for it. As a Contractor, I can get them anytime new for around $660.00. If you can get $500 for it jump on it. Best of luck to you,

The condenser fan motor has stopped working for the 3rd time. This unit is only 10yrs old.We have already replaced it twice.

Is it the motor or capacitor? If the capacitor is bad the motor won;t run, it will just hum or run real slow.
If it is the motor and it's the 3rd one then you need to go to a more heavy duty motor, for instance if it's a 1/4 horse power then go to a 1/3 hp. etc.

We have a rheem heat compressor pump manufactured 08/2004. compressor is not coming on. Had a tech come tonight, he said compressor is bad and a new one is very hard to find so we should look into buying a...

Check your yellow pages find a contractor who will offer free second opion on compressor failors, better yet try to find one that is a rheem dealer. If the compressor does turn out to be bad he can turn in the model and serial # to find the installation date. In most cases warranty info does start day of contractor purchase unless owner fills out and mails in warranty card. But neverless warranty ticks away while house sits unsold. Compressor does not have to be a direct replacement most any brand of compressor ( of proper capacity) will work in there but may have to do a little retrofit. Should be no problem. As for price replacing a compressor is very expensive. About the most expensive thing to replace. It is definetly easier and quicker to just change out the unit. Get a few quotes keep in mind after replacing comressor some other part of unit could go bad costing more money.

American Standard blower will not run

Sounds like motor has failed. If the red light is blinking it may be telling you what is wrong by the number of blinks. It maybe locked out for some reason or loose wire. Try turning off breakers to inside unit for 5 mins and try again, this may reset unit. But it sounds like a bad motor or circut board. Try running with stat in on position instead of auto in cooling mode.

Compressor kicks out and it's new

First of all, clean your outside coils so that you are assured of good cooling air. The compressors have an overtemp device that is usually internal to protect them against heat. If you have an air compressor use it to blow out the coils good. If the compressor will start, the capacitor is good so it sounds like a cooling problem with the compressor
