This is very likely caused by display card driver. You may need to update the display card driver.
I suggest you disable the display card driver to see if the problem still exists. This will force Windows XP to use the default VGA driver.
To disable the display card driver, you can perform the following steps: a. Click Start, right click My Computer and click Manage. b. Click to highlight "Device Manager". c. Click the plus sign "+" next to "Display adapters". d. Right click your display card and click Disable. e. Reboot your computer.
This is a problem with the GM965 chipset display driver. you need to search for the updated display driver for your computer/laptop and then install this to your system.

Right click on the name of the display driver and choose 'Uninstall'.
Reboot your computer.

Since this is a TV, you do not require a driver for it or any display device attached to a PC. The driver you need to update is the video card driver of your PC. Once it is installed, it will be able to communicate with your TV or monitor's EDID (Extended Display Information Data) and be able to send an image to it properly. The internal EDID will tell the video card what resolutions it can accept.
Greetings!
I cannot find the exact brand of your display driver, here's a link which I think give you an idea of what display driver you need, and download that driver. http://nodevice.com/driver/category/Video_Card.html
Thanks.
