Try to manually configure the router by accessing it user interface:
type the router's ip on the address bar of the pc that is conencted to the router the default ip of the router is 192.168.1.1 just leave the username blank and type in "admin" for the password.

Since you're using DSL connection set the router to PPPOE and type the username and password for your DSL account tne save it.

Switched from DSL modem to Cable modem. Linksys

If you had your linksys router controlling the DSL connection, it was most likely a PPPoe connection requiring a username and password. Most cable companies have dynamic IP address and do not require a username or password.

Open your internet browser, IE, Firefox etc and go to 192.168.1.1 >
Enter your router username and password, typically admin and admin

In the setup tab, change your connection FROM whatever is listed there and make sure it is Autumatic DHCP Save your settings, and restart the router.

You should be fine.

I went from a ATT dsl modem to a net gear modem and i cannot get the net ger mode and linksys mode to talk to the computer

Most DSL providers use PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) to establish Internet connections for end-users. To set up a Linksys router, you need to enable PPPoE on the router’s web-based setup page.
To setup a Linksys router with a DSL connection you need to perform four steps:
  1. Verifying Internet Connection
  2. Connecting the Devices Together
  3. Checking the LEDs
  4. Setting-up a DSL ISP on a Linksys Router
Verifying Internet Connection
Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If not, contact your Internet Service Provider.

Setup router with vonage device and dsl modem

For the best call quality, I suggest you connect the Vonage router to the DSL modem, and if necessary, connect the Linksys router behind that. Why are you using a second router, though - you probably just need a switch or hub, if you're trying to connect more machines. Small networks rarely require more than one router. MaverickSolutions.biz may be able to provide additional support if you can give us more details about your installation.

Yes, you can still use the Linksys router with your ATT dsl modem. Could you provide me with the model or brand of your ATT dsl modem so I could provide you with the steps on how to setup your router?

DSL connection not being shared by Linksys RV042 Dual Wan router

Looks like your "modem" is actually a gateway, as is common with DSL devices. It's acting like a modem and a router. So you're actually connecting a router to your RV42. You could get this to work a couple ways.
1. Leave the modem acting like a router and configure the WAN connection on the RV42 as a static IP, and use the IP of the modem. You may also be able to use "obtain IP automatically" in the WAN connection. This way, the modem stores your PPOE information and just forwards the traffic to the RV42. Any devices behind the RV42 won't know the difference.
2. Configure the modem as just a modem (no routing). Your ISP should be able to talk you through this, but in the modem configuration you can look for what's usually called "bridged mode." Then you would enter the PPOE information in the RV42. This is my preferred method.

Wireless network broken, access to WRT54G & Motorola 2210-02 via http.. denied

I have att yahoo dsl which I installed about a year ago. The process required bridging the ADSL Modem (in my case a speedstream 4100) and accepting dynamic IP addresses and configuring PPPoE on the WAN side of my Linksys router. The ATT support person walked me through the entire process over the phone even though I was comfortable with making the Linksys configuration changes as I had to do the same in China without technical support. The modem configuration was no more difficult than the router configuration as it was performed from a web browser too. The biggest warning was that to reverse the modem change (if desired) required use of a reset button because the web interface was disabled as a result of the configuration change. My advice to you especially if you are willing to attach the Linksys router to the telco modem is to contact the ATT highspeed DSL support line and see if they will walk you through it like they walked me through it. Reviewing your Linksys User's Guide and understanding the configuration of that device would probably be appreciated by the ATT Support person as well as assuring you can access the Linksys router to configure it during the call.

Please help

To setup your router
first check..
Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If it is not, contact your Internet Service Provider. If it can go online,
to setup connection..
Step 1:
Connect the Broadband modem to the router’s WAN or Internet port.
Step 2:
Connect the computer to any available numbered port (1, 2, 3 or 4).
NOTE: In this example, we’ll connect the computer to port number 3.
Step 3:
Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet.
Step 4:
check if you are able to go online wired..
if not your router has to be configured first,
config your router by running the setup cd and that would fix your problem..
let me no know in case if you have any problems ...
