My dinner plate stops the arm rotating, why? model fdud4812

Both upper and lower washing arms operate on the water pressure and angle of water flowing thru them.
Pressure provided by water pump.

Just about anything that contacts the rotating arm can stop it.
Best thing to do is re-arrange items in dishwasher so that arms can spin freely.
One can always spin washing arms by hand to ensure proper clearance.

Hope this helps...

After the dishwasher runs there is a lot of soap left in the soap dispenser. I've tried powder and liquid. Liquid is a bit better. I've tried using less soap but there still is a lot left. Also my glasses...

With the LG LDF6810 model, this is not a common problem. Please try the following test, With and empty dishwasher, add a small to normal amount of dry dishwasher powder and run an (empty) load.
Check to see if any soap remains in the dispenser cup.
If any remains, here are three things to do: 1.) Upgrade your dishwasher detergent to a name brand powder (e.g.: Electrosol or Cascade)
2.) When you load the dishwasher, do not place large items in the front, near the door/soap dispenser.
3.) Before you load the dirty dishes for the next several loads, with your hand, turn both the upper and lower wash arms so they point at the door. Load as you normally do and push the racks fully in. Before you close the door, spin both the upper and lower arms and confirm that they spin freely and neither hits anything. if either does not spin freely, pull out the rack and arrange so the arms can spin freely.
I find that the only time I have left over detergent powder is when the wash arms do not spin freely.
This is a common problem on most every energy star/water conserving dishwashers.
Please report back what you find, OK?

Water does not get up to the upper spray head

When you try the water dispenser you should hear the water inlet valve which is on the back where the water supply comes in. If you do hear it then Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws.
If you don't hear the valve working the dispenser switch is bad. thumbs up

Upper rack is not cleaning. Greasy dishes on top seem that dishes are not being washed. Seems the upper water turning dispenser is not working, Bottom rack seems ok. I guess I only have half a dish washer...

Check the upper arm for free spinning, then remove the arm and check that the seam between the upper and lower halves has not split somewhere. Also check all the small holes for debris plugging. Run the machine in wash cycle for a little while with the upper arm off--that should flush out anything blocking the pipe up to the arm. If still nothing from the upper arm, tear down the lower arm assembly down to the deck while noting position of all parts removed. Clean the big screen at the bottom in white vinegar and hot water. Inspect the holes in the bottom for anything blocking them.

Upper Arm Not Spinning on Whirlpool Quiet Partner I

Possibly, the intake screen under the lower arm is partially plugged. Take the upper arm off and inspect the holes for plugging and that the seam between upper and lower halves is not split. Our Maytag split the same seam--fixed by drilling a number of very small holes along the split and sewing it shut with fine wire.

Upper rack spinning device fails to aquire water and does not spin

Jeff, When a dishwasher acts like this, the most common problem is a blockage in the sump area, underneath the lower spray arm. Removing any/all filter and covers down there (screws will need to be removed) and inspecting with a flashlight, remove all debris (watch out for broken glass!)  Also, inspect the "impeller" that is turned by the wash motor for damage or being loose while you are down there.  Reassemble and test out.
If problems remain, the next most common problem is a failed wash motor.  It is common over the years for it to weaken as it heads towards total failure.  These motors, when they fail, can not be repaired, rather they must be replaced.
Please post back with what you find, OK?

Water drips on floor under the door.

Take off the lower part on the back. Follow the water line up the back. It is connected in two spots lowere rear and upper rear going into freezer.
