Hi I have almost 30 inkjet printers...

Usual problem when that happens:
After lots of printing the PAPER FEED ROLLERS usually made of rubber will become very shiny with wear. So instead of feeding the paper they slip like a car on ice.
The printer not knowing prints anyway and wastes your expensive ink.

Solution:
Scuff the paper feed rollers to help traction.

Heres how:
Using a disposable nail file (sandpaper type)
Lift Lid and holding sideways against each roller (usually 3-4)
Press PAPER FEED.
It will scuff as it rotates - Usually does the trick!

Try reinstalling the drivers and/or replacing the cables. Also look for any debris or tiny piece of paper that may be stuck between the rollers..

Double printing on pixma mp470

Double printing or double feed??. Double printing means document printed in 2 copies. Double feed means printer feed double paper in one moment. For double printing, please check number of copy of document in printing preference properties.
Double feed occurs when pickup roller fails to pick the paper correctly. It's usually caused by shaft of paper pick up roller which is broken. You should replace drive assembly (include pick up roller) in this case

Can't work out how to use the multiscan? I press scan and it comes up with multiscan and I put the first piece of paper in but don't seem to get asked for any more sheets and it therefore just scans one...

Anita,

Put the pages in the "multiscan" all at once, not just one sheet at a time. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) will feed one sheet of your document at a time untill all of the pages are scanned...

Cannot print double sided

On the machine when a 2 sided document is inserted in the document handler, select the 2x2 button on the console. Press the start button and the machine will feed the document in, and do a reverse of the document for the second scan. In the paper feeder, the machine feeds the paper in and reversed the copy back into the machine, flips the copy then feeds the copy back for the second side to be copied.
If you do not have a m20i, the lower model numbers will not do two sided copies.

Document feeder works for printing but not for scanning

Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!
