Hotpoint FDL 9640P U.K. Washer Dryer problem. Start/Pause button flashes every 3-4 secs.

That sounds like you are on Pause or Delayed Start. Try Pressing and holding the button. You can also try disconnecting from the mains for 5 minutes.

When in doubt, read the manual :>D

START/PAUSE button with indicator light: starts or temporarily interrupts the wash cycles. N.B. To pause the wash cycle in progress, press this button; the corresponding indicator light will flash orange, while the indicator light for the current wash cycle phase will remain lit in a fixed manner. If the DOOR LOCKED indicator light is switched off, the door may be opened. To start the wash cycle from the point at which it was interrupted, press this button again.

and also

! If the START/PAUSE indicator light (orange) flashes rapidly at the same time as the function indicator light, this indicates a problem has occurred (see "Troubleshooting").

I have an error message f51 on my whirlpool cabrio washer model number WTW7600XW0, What is it and how can I fix this error on my own

F51 error code is a motor rotor position sensor failure or a lower harness problem. You need to check the motor in manual test mode, not automatic test mode. This will check the hall sensors and do a spin test: Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off; or with only the Clothes Clean or Done indicator on). Select any one button (except POWER, START, STOP, and PAUSE/CANCEL) and follow the steps below, using the same button: Press/hold 3 seconds. Release for 3 seconds. Press/hold 3 seconds. Release for 3 seconds. Press/hold 3 seconds.

If this test mode has been entered successfully, all indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with 88 showing in the Estimated Time Remaining two-digit display. During the 5 second wait time with 88 showing in the display, press the same button once. You should be in manual test mode. If the button is not pressed within 5 seconds, the automatic test mode begins. The Rotor Position Sensor uses Wash, Rinse, and Spin indicators to detect the three hall sensors. Console can have up to two of these indicators on at the same time when the tub is not moving. Open the lid and rotate the basket by hand. The Wash, Rinse, and Spin indicators should toggle on and off according to the direction the tub is being turned.

SPIN TEST: Make sure lid is down. Press and release: 2nd RINSE or EXTRA RINSE. The lid locks and the lid lock indicator turns on. Press and release; SPIN SPEED, WATER LEVEL, or LOAD SIZE. The motor/basket spins at 23 rpm. Press again, motor /basket spins at 530 rpm. Press again, motor/basket spins at 950 rpm. Press again and motor turns off.

LID WON'T LOCK & LID LOCK LIGHT WON'T COME ON

I would suspect that your lid lock switch is faulty, or maybe it has come unplugged from the motor controller module. You can access this by removing the whole top moulding but I cannot remember now how to do this now. But it wasn't difficult. Hunt around and download a copy of the service manual and the IPB.

How do I use the Child Lock option on Samsung WF-B1456GW?

Hi there,

You can use the child lock feature in 2 ways.

1. To prevent operation of the washing machine when no wash cycle is running

To set this feature, switch the machine on using the POWER button at the top-left of the control-panel. Next, press and hold both the SPIN and RINSE buttons for about 3 seconds - until the child lock light indicator on the control panel illuminates. All functions of the washing machine will now be disabled apart from POWER ON/OFF until such time as the child lock is deactivated.

To deactivate the child lock, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons again until the child lock light indicator on the control panel goes out.

2. To prevent any tiny fingers from tampering with the machine while a program is running.

After pressing the START/PAUSE button to start the wash cycle, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons until the child lock light indicator illuminates. All buttons on the control panel will now be disabled until the child lock has been disabled. When the wash cycle has finished, you will need to switch the child lock off again to reactivate the buttons. Once you have finished using the washer, reactivate the child lock again before switching the power off as above.

The feature can also be used when using the delayed start feature, but needs to be set after pressing the START/PAUSE button.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

My oasis kenmore elite keeps flashing f 50

The machine control through the rotor position sensor (RPS) cannot detect the motor running. The rotor is stuck, the rotor position sensor is faulty, or the machine control is malfunctioning. Open the lid and turn the drum manually. If it turns freely, activate the Manual Diagnostic Mode Test to check the functionality of the rotor position sensor and the machine control. If it doesn't turn freely, let us know to guide you in troubleshooting and repairing it.

The machine should be in standby mode when activating diagnostic test mode. That is, the machine is plugged in will all indicators off, or with only the Clothes Clean indicator on.

Choose any single button except Start, Stop, and Power. Press and hold the chosen button for 3 seconds and release it for 3 seconds; press it again for another 3 seconds and release it for another 3 seconds; press the same button again for another 3 seconds and release it (press, release, press, release, press; 3 seconds each).

The indicators will all light up for 5 seconds with 88 displayed in the Estimated Time Remaining display if the test mode has been successfully entered.

Repeat the procedure if the test mode is not activated. You may choose another button. Let us know if it cannot be activated after multiple attempts failed.

Press the same button chosen above before the indicators turn off (5 seconds). A single beep sounds and the two-digit console ID number is displayed. After 3 seconds the display is cleared (00) and the Add a Garment indicator flashes.

Open the lid and rotate the basket manually. The Wash, Rinse, and Spin status indicators should toggle on and off according to the rotation of the basket.

Press and release the 2nd Rinse button to lock the lid and the lid lock indicator turns on. Press and release the Rinse Speed button. The basket should spin slowly; pressing it again will raise the spin speed. The motor turns off and the basket stops the fourth time the Rinse Speed button is pressed.

With the basket stopped, press the Soil Level button to activate the Gentle wash action. Press it again to activate the Normal wash action. Press it again to activate the Heavy wash action. Press it again to turn off the motor and stop the basket.

Let us know the result of the test for us to guide you in troubleshooting the problem and eventually repair it.
