To make your Philips HTS5593/12 region free (this works on a purchesed in the UK and other countrys in february 203
1. Make sure there is no disc in the tray when you switch on. 2. Press "home" key on remote control. 3. Enter number "1389310". 4. Switch off. Wait a few seconds and then switch on...now region free.
Please note, the above hack has only been confirmed as providing region-free DVD, not Blu-Ray.
Yes, but only if the tv has an digital audio output. If that is the case connect that to the home theater and mute the speakers from the tv - the sound will be decoded and delivered by the HTS, at a much greater quality.
I have only subwooper biult in Amperfire - philps home threatre WS5500C - 98 old model, but I have no the DVD it self. I mean the control or other part anywhere Iwant it to work as amplifier only Can you help.
i have purchased philips dvd and philips home theater 5.1 3300w model. how to connet to the home theater to dvd and tv. because i miss my home theater manual book.
i had the same ploblem sometime last year and all i did was to put a cleaning disk(the ones with a cleaning brush on) in it a couple of times...and it works fine since then!
Hi, the best thing to do is to reset the device back to factoy settings, how to do that is mostly written in your manual. Also unplugging the power for 5 to 10 minutes might help.
Test the speakers by changing source to the disc mode, and inserting a dvd into the HTS. If you get sound on all 5 speakers in DVD mode, then your speakers are still good. If you don't get sound on all 5 speakers, then press the "SURR" button to try the sound in stero, dolby, or other modes - one of these should give you sound on all 5 speakers. If you still don't get sound on all 5 speakers in dvd mode, then there is a problem with the speakers or speaker wires.
If you do get sound on all 5 speakers in disc (dvd) mode, but not when in TV mode, then take out the red and white AV cable, go buy a digital audio or SPDIF cable, and plug in the digital audio or SPDIF cable from the digital audio OUT of your TV or cable/satellite box to the "DIGITAL IN" of the HTS.
Just run the yellow cord that came supplied with the HTS from the CVBS plug in the back of the HTS to any available yellow video input on your TV, then you want to change your TV's video/source/input/channel (the wording varies by tv manufacturer) to Video 1/AV 1/Aux 1, or whatever your television is calling the yellow input that you plugged into.
If you have a later Philips home cinema model: HTS3100, 3300, 3500, 3154, 3357, 6510 & others, the sound from the TV will go through the existing scart connection.
Just select TV on the home cinema remote control.
For any other models, use a scart - twin phono lead (red & white), from the TV to one of the inputs into the home cinema.
Scarts 1 & 2 on the TV will have different results. Try both.
Which souce are you set to?
DISC, AUX, TUNER or TV?
