Kenmore Refrig Model 596.50699000, not getting cold as should. Frost forming on top row of coils only?????

Clean the condenser. Probably below refrig. Reset all settings to mid point and check to see if you have a restricted drain tube.

I have a Kenmore refrigerator 795690002900 bottom freezer. The freezer is working but the fridge doesn`t work. The temp adjustment for freezer lits up the 6 and 7 will not adjust, the fridge part does not...

Mine bottom freezer 10 or so year old unit did the same thing, problem was the thermal switch ("clicks on") on de-ice circuit was broken. Quick "fix" is to defrost the unit by shutting it off, putting frozen food in a cooler. Once the ice melts the path for blowing cold air UP to the frige will be opened. Will work fine for days until the freezer ices up again.

Most likely the "clicks on" or thermal swithch that is bad and will not let the defroster heater work. Easy fix. Everything is BEHIND the pull out frozen food tray. Remove a couple of screws and you will see all the ice. If I remember correctly my clicks on was just to the right of center and took only 5 minutes to replace after defrosting the unit.

Hope this helped,

LG Bottom freezer refrigerator Model LFC21760 does not cool

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages

.
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Fridge wont get cold and freezer gets cold then gets warm

Sounds like to me you have a defrost issue. If your fridge is only 2 months old don't sweat it and call out a Whirlpool warrenty certified tech. to fix the problem. And sorry to say age does not matter with fridges any more. The good ole days of fridges lasting 20 years is over now it's 12 years if your lucky.

Kenmore sidebyside

Hi! There,,,If you want help, one needs to explain the problem.. A refrig is quite simple in opertion, with time used experience. For a side by side the freezer is cooled with the same system as the refrigerator cooling system. One and only. Freezer works, do you mean it is provining design temperature of some -10 deg F??? Do you have a by-pass duct between the the two. yes, then open it up more, disconnect motor is auto, and prop vent open, set refrig temp to a low temp say 40 deg F. are we cooling??? Post your condition, if you want further info Regards,,,fmauka
