I doubt after a factory install or reinstall that you need to download drivers but just in case the drivers are listed HERE

1. Make sure your sound card is listed in the control panel under sounds if there is no device in there then you need to load the driver above.

2. If there is no "speaker icon" by the clock on the task-bar this means also there might not been a driver loaded.

Most of this issue is caused by a driver not loading or the speakers being in the wrong plug so you might want to check that out as well.

Update me with any information if your still having issues.

Cannot get any sound

Make sure your speakers are pluged in the green socket at the rear of your computer case.
Secondly, use the driver disk for your PC to install the Sound drivers, if you do not have them, serch for them on google. Download them and install. Either use Dell Dimension 5150 audio drivers in your search or the exact model of your mainboard.

How do reset my compuer to factory without a cd

All versions of windows have whats called system restore.

Hopefully it was turned on.

Go to start button, all programs, accessories, system tools,
system restore, click on choose a different restore and then next,
now, on the next page click on the little box that says-show me all restore points, now pick the oldest restore point, and this will return the pc to
a state when it was new.

Dell Dimension 5150 no sound - please help

You should be able to download the original driver files from Dell Support Drivers & Downloads.

However, this may be worth a try:
Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.

A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right-click
and click on Properties.
Make sure that "Startup type" is set to automatic. Also, make sure, under "Service
status," start is selected.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

I recently formated my hard drive on my dimension 5150 now i can't connect to the internet to update the puter because i can find the ethernet driver

Find a computer with internet access and type http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R105478.EXE into the browser. It will prompt a download for your network card. Burn it to a CD or copy to USB drive. Then take to your computer and run the file and your ethernet card will be working. This is for the ethernet card on your motherboard. If you have an aftermarket one as well this will get you on your way.

Ethernet driver

Note the Service Tag of the the PC and access the Dell website from another PC. Go into the support section of Dell website, select Download Drivers, and enter the service tag of your PC.

You should be able to find the ethernet driver for it (if there are 2 or more download both and save to a CD or USB memory stick.

Now go to your Dell. You should be able to run the program from the USB stick and it will restore the Ethernet connection.

Do the same for other drivers you need, sound, graphics, etc.

No videon

it sounds like an issue of driver installation order. If not installed in the correct order, the drivers may not function correctly. The correct order is:

Desktop System Software
Chipset Utility
Video Driver
Audio Driver
Modem Driver
Network Driver

My suggestion is to do a system restore to the 1st available restore point (The one created at boot after you reinstalled) then install the drivers in the correct order. (NOTE: Before you can play a DVD, you will have to install the DVD player too)
