Asus Laptop Not Tunring On

Basically i press the on button. The computer turns on, i can hear the fan going. The problem is that the screen remains blank and the computer sounds like it is loading up but nothing happens. It almost sounds like a clicking sound over and over again. I have tried with the battery in or out. I have also tried reseting the hardware with the button underneath the computer but still no luck!

Try using an external monitor to see if it's the laptop screen, if it works your screen or backlight is dead.

does not sound easy . Try holding power button in for 30 seconds and then try normal power up. Is the AC adapter plugged into laptop it may have a flat battery. If the Ac to DC adapter is failing to charge the battery this could cause a flat laptop battery and cause the symptoms you are experiencing.

My notebook is not turning on,how do i know if its the battery

When you plug in the power cord is there anylights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter ofthe power cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.

I have an acer 5741G which my father got me last year. i have just installed one game in it. when i play the laptop gets heated too much(that too within 30 minutes) and i have to stop playing to cool it...

Overheating of a laptop can cause degredation of components and possibly system failure but generally it could be a very simple fix. Best thing to do is to go out and buy a laptop cooling stand for it. The laptop will sit on this stand, which has fans that will blow cool air into the laptop from it's intake below the laptop and this should help to keep it from reaching critical temperatures. I recommend a laptop cooling stand for anyone who owns a laptop as the one fault of almost all laptops is the intake is usually directly below the laptop, and when you rest it on your lap you end up choking out it's air supply allowing it to overheat.

My laptop when I turn on the power it appear a hp screen and then it turn black and it appear a dash blinking fast and after that the keyboard cant function when I press any button.

Try this on an external computer monitor. If it works ok there, the inverter on the screen of the laptop is failing and needs replacing, or the screen backlight may also be going ( new screen needed)
If it does not work on an extyernal monitor, its the usual HP problem of a graphics chip unsoldering itself. You will need a new motherboard or a reball carried out.

You can also check that you can hear the fan working, if it is not, and the laptop is getting hot, or if the fan is always on, you have an overheating problem, a dead cpu fan or connector. This will necessitate opening up the laptop and inspecting the fan / cleaning the heatsink.

The screen on my laptop will not turn on

Two things to try until youre sure its some serious hardware problem.

Firstly hold the power button till its totally off. the click the power button three times?

If it doesnt work, disconnect power source, take off battery, and hold power button for 30 seconds. replace everything and start.

If you hear the fans turn and some sounds from the computer but the screen is still off, you may have to replace the screen. only a professional should handle that.
