I purchased a 4GB Sandisk Micro SDHC card and inserted it into my Samsung Gravity 2... when I tried to format it it said "Error"... and after that the phone will not even recognize that there IS an SD card in there. I cannot click on "Memory Card Settings", I do not get a memory card icon displaying (which I did before trying to format)... did I waste my money on the card??

1. Be sure that the device you are using the 4GB micro SDHC card for,
is able to use this type (HC=High Capacity) of memory.
2. Check the memory card is working well on a notebook / pc with an adaptor
and/or a SD-cardreader.
3. Format the memory card and re-check.

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Some older cameras and card readers are not compatible with SDHC, if this is the case you need to use SD instead.

If your new card is actually an SDHC card, your camera can't use it....only SD up to 2GB.

The S50 uses SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card, and will not work in the S50. You will have to confine your choices to cards 2GB and smaller.

What phone model?
It may not supportt 4GB (micro SDHC).

If it does, then "format" the card in the phone or in a computer.

Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.

I'm having the same problem with a Transcend 4GB microSDHC card / microSD adapter. I have also found it probably has something to do with the card reader...either the card reader is an SD card reader trying to read an SDHC card OR the card reader is not able to read high-gigabyte SD cards (over 1 GB in some cases).

The ZR200 is able to read a card of maximum of 2 Gbytes !!!

The 4 GB SD card it is a so called SDHC = Secure Digital High Capacity ! Every SD card with more than 2 G Bytes it is a High Capacity and the old hardware will not be able to use these SDHC.
