SanDisk 4GB microSD High Capacity Memory Card Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 31, 2010

I purchased a 4GB Sandisk Micro SDHC card and inserted it into my Samsung Gravity 2... when I tried to format it it said "Error"... and after that the phone will not even recognize that there IS an SD card in there. I cannot click on "Memory Card Settings", I do not get a memory card icon displaying (which I did before trying to format)... did I waste my money on the card??

Your samsung Gravity 2 wont read the HC format, there is not much you can do sorry. the SD HC is a newer format for devices in the last year or so. Older devices will not accept the HC format cards. I did the same thing! And im in the business, easy mistake. Keep it around though you'll use it soon, just not in your Samsung. Gurvy

Testimonial: "thank you, I realize this was the case... in my opinion, the SD/HC card manufacturers should put a warning on the packaging. I did get my money back. "

When I try to synk music it tells me I cant because is write protected. How do I cleared it?

1. Be sure that the device you are using the 4GB micro SDHC card for,
is able to use this type (HC=High Capacity) of memory.
2. Check the memory card is working well on a notebook / pc with an adaptor
and/or a SD-cardreader.
3. Format the memory card and re-check.

When I insert a SanDisk SD card 2GB it tells me there is a card error, is it the card itself?

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Memory card Sandisk 4GB gives error memory card

The S50 uses SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card, and will not work in the S50. You will have to confine your choices to cards 2GB and smaller.

When i insert my micro sd card into my phone a warning screen saying bad format error what should i do?

It may not supportt 4GB (micro SDHC).

If it does, then "format" the card in the phone or in a computer.

Formatting troubles for a 8gb Sandisk Micro SDHC

Hi Tony,

Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.

Micro sd card not working

I'm having the same problem with a Transcend 4GB microSDHC card / microSD adapter. I have also found it probably has something to do with the card reader...either the card reader is an SD card reader trying to read an SDHC card OR the card reader is not able to read high-gigabyte SD cards (over 1 GB in some cases).

Canon zr200 wont format new 4gb sandisk card...why?

The ZR200 is able to read a card of maximum of 2 Gbytes !!!

The 4 GB SD card it is a so called SDHC = Secure Digital High Capacity ! Every SD card with more than 2 G Bytes it is a High Capacity and the old hardware will not be able to use these SDHC.
