Hi burnzcity,

It seems you have an issue with a Xbox 360. So, according to Microsoft, one red light flashing means you have a system error and suggest you contact Xbox Customer Support. Here is a link that should provide you some assistance.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong

I was watching net flicks and my xbox rebooted and flashed a red ring (bottom right) and it said E68. i shut it off and started it up again and works<did that twice<the unit was alittle hot...

The e68 error on your Xbox 360 is caused by a hard drive/HDD problem. It can be caused by an internal connection error with the hard drive, a general failure of the hard drive, or overheating of the hard drive. Basically, there is quite a large range of things that can cause the Xbox 360 e68 problem, which can make troubleshooting the issue slightly difficult.

To fix the e68 code on your Xbox 360 is to remove the internal hard drive and try playing your console without it. If it then works, then you can be sure that you can permanently fix the problem. If not, then you will have more serious issues on your console that will need to be checked over by Microsoft, as the e68 is generally believed to be related only to your console's hard drive/HDD.

Hope this helps.

When I turned on my system, it had system error contact xbox customer support. There is a red light flashing on the bottom right, around the power button. I don't know what to do. Please help.

Some of us suddenly when we turn on our Xbox 360 console one day we got one red light flashes on the ROL (Ring of Light) around the Xbox 360 power button, and we got an Error message appearing on the TV screen "System error" also might occur with any error code like E66, E67, E68, E71, E74 or E77, all the same.

When you get any of these messages appearing on your screen with one red light flashing on the ROL of your Xbox 360 console that's an indicator of a hardware problem with the console connection to one of the parts connected to it as the hard drive or cables.

So, first disconnect all power and AV cables from the back of your Xbox 360 console and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket, wait for a minute then reconnect them all back and try to turn on your Xbox 360 console once more.

If that doesn't work, it seems then to be a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so turn off the console again and remove the hard drive then turn on your Xbox 360 console without the hard drive, supposed then to work fine, it might be an intermittent issue and when you reconnect the hard drive your Xbox 360 will work fine all after, or it will just work fine without the hard drive so it will be then definitely a fault with your Xbox 360 hard drive so call Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the hard drive for you.

The Xbox 360 console might even keep giving you the same error code even after you remove the hard drive so it will then appear to be a fault with your Xbox 360 console not the hard drive & also in a case like this we need to contact Xbox 360 customer support to exchange the console.

One red ring, erra 68.

What you need to do is try using the console without the hard drive or with a different hard drive, one red ring means a hardware failure, and the error code e68 is in relation to the hard drive. If using the console with a different hard drive, or none at all doesnt work, ensure that the fans are working as they often also cause the e68 error and a single flashing red light.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

Error e68

Remove any disk from the DVD drive2_bing.gif.
Remove the hard drive and turn on. When you get to the dashboard turn it off again by holding the X button on the controller and select 'Turn off console'.
Wait 10 seconds and then turn on again by pushing the X button on the controller. When you get to the dashboard turn off again via the X button.
Remove the AV / Video plug from the back of your Xbox.
Replace the hard drive correctly.
Switch on the Xbox via the power button on the console. 4 red lights should flash.
Wait 10 seconds and re-insert the AV / Video cable.
You should now load into the dashboard with your hard drive profiles - wait theres more!
Turn off and on via the X button as before another 2 times with all leads and the hard drive in place.
After you power it off the second time, remove the power lead for 20 minutes and then turn on again any way you feel like it and it should be cured.

X box360 flashing red light

Where is the flashing light? If it is at the 3rd position (bottom right) only, then the screen should say E68 error. If this is true, turn off the system, take off the harddrive, put the harddrive back on and turn the system back on. This happens to mine frequently. If its 3 of the lights, then you are out of luck my friend. Red Ring of Death...
