I have a paper jam in my shredder. How do I fix this?

Some shredders have reverse mode
to eject jam. Otherwise its a slow job - Unplug from mains Remove each piece of paper as close to the jaws of the shredder as possible. Then hopefully when plug in and turn on will not find too much resistance and be able to cope with the paper and drag the jam through until clear.

That shredder is as weak as they come - it is probably a broken plastic part inside the mechanism. Recommend you throw it away and get the Amazon Basics shredder, your experience will be much better. Sorry.

In case of a paper jam , which may occur if the shredder is pushed beyond its specified capabilities, press the control switch to the off [O] position and empty the basket if full. Then:
1) Press and hold control switch in reverse [R] position and attempt to back paper out of shredder.
2) If shredder jams in reverse mode, press control switch to automatic [I] position and attempt to continue shredding operation.
3) If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between reverse [R] and automatic [I] positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through shredder.
If you are unable to clear the jam using this method, turn off and unplug the shredder; remove the wastebasket from cabinet and carefully remove any paper extending below the cutting cylinders; empty the wastebasket; insert wastebasket and repeat jam clearing procedure.

If you can't get the paper shredder up and running, it looks like you might have to pick up a new paper shredder. Paper shredders can be pretty cheap though, great guide to cheap paper shredders here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-Paper-Shredders

First unplug shredder. You can remove the top and start removing paper. It can be quite time consuming. I can't remember if this model uses plastic paper strippers or not. If it does, they may have broken when the shredder jammed. They strip the paper from the cutters.

Remove as much of the jam as possible then saturate any paper left with shredder oil or you may use any liquid vegetable based cooking oil from your kitchen. After letting paper soak for at least 7hours you should be able to power through the jam. If not call Fellowes customer service at 1-800-945-4545
