Outdoor shots are blue

I'm having trouble with my Olympus 720 SW - whenever I take outdoor shots, the photos come out with a very noticeable blue tint. Indoor is fine. I've tried changing the setting to outdoor, portrait, etc. nothing is working. Any ideas?

If you mean the blue violet thing, you may not be able to solve this. It is the thing that this camera cannot compete well to the other brands.

Hey VickylnStL,
What I believe is going on is your white balance setting has been set to incandescent light which on your camera is a light bulb. For outdoor shots you should have the camera set to auto white balance, or have the white balance symbol set to the sun icon or the cloud icon depending on the conditions outside. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

How do I use the timer on my my Olympus Stylus 720 SW.

To shoot with the self timer: have the camera in shooting mode - press teh down arrow on the back of the camera until the symbol shows that looks like a clock - this turns self timer on.

After it is set to ON - fully depress the shutter button - this will start the self timer process you have 12 seconds if you want to be in the shot -

This is a one shot deal. If you wish tio take another photo using self timer you have to set it up again.

Olympus and card problem

Hi. Thanks for your question, it helped me solve the same problem on my 720 SW. I don't know what initialised the problem but I had the same result - when I turned the power on I only had the option to format the memory card or turn the camera off. The solution was to take the memory card out and download the pictures using a card reader connected to my laptop. When I re-inserted the card and turned the camera on it worked normally. To make sure that everything was again OK I formatted the memory card to make sure it was properly re-set. Good luck and thanks. Rob
