Scanning to WP 9

Intermittently, scanner will act as if its working, all scanning processes proceed, then it opens to WP 9 with a blank screen. Occasionally, the scan takes. Have tried the reinstall, etc.

My scanner is plugged in but when I try to scan a document it says my scanner is not responding

Hello,

If it is your first time using your printer, then you need to install the driver for it to work.

If you have used your printer without any problem before then, there are two possible reasons why your printer/scanner is having that issue:

1. Connection error
2. Driver problem

First thing's first. Restart your computer and your printer. there are times that computers and printers just need a restart for it to work. Yes, it's strange but it's how things work with machines. They need rebooting to work smoothly.

If rebooting your computer and printer won't fix the problem. Here are the things that you can do.

1. Connection error:
.
a. Turn off your printer and turn it back on. Try scanning, if no go.. proceed to step b.

b. Unplug your printer from your computer and unplug it's power cord and press and hold the printer's power button to 5-8 seconds to completely drain the power. Plug it back in to the wall outlet leaving the connection between your computer and the printer still unplugged. wait until your printer completely turns on. Plug it to your computer and do the scanning process.

If all steps above don't work, then you need to check the driver.

Uinstall the driver of your computer by going to the control panel. After uinstalling it, then reinstall it by using the dvd that came with your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions and try scanning. It should work.

If it doesn't, please reply to this thread.

Hp 2210xi printer will print from computer, but not print a copy placed on the glass. machine acts like it's printing, but page comes out blank and no error message.

Try restating your computer, uninstall the printer software, restart your computer, install printer software again, and restart computer again. (leave the printer off during this process unless told otherwise by the on-screen instructions).

If the above doesn't work, then it could be a hardware issue with the scanner. Try scanning a document to your computer and see if that works. If it doesn't, then your device probably needs a hardware repair...hopefully something is just loose in there.

Hope that helps!

When scanning with the native scanning software, the scanner runs very fast but file size is huge. When I use Adobe 9 to scan, my files size is much smaller but the scanner pauses after each page. I need...

I would expect the problem with the Capture perfect fike size is down to the compression chosen for the output file. Ideally black and white inahes should be Group 4 TIFFs and Colour or Greyscale should be JPEG. Alternatively you may want to check the scanner is set to 'scan ahead' in the twain settings in Acrobat. If it is set to anything else the scanner will slow down to allow the PC to process every image. With 'Scan Ahead' turned on the scanners memeory buffer the PC speed a little giving you faster scanning.

Scanning Blank

Try and re-install the scanner, check the settings of the scanner software you are using and change the settings to scan picture or scan in colour. Thanks

The scanner warms up and goes through its process but does not transfer picture to screen - comes through a blank white page and then the screen turns black reinstalled the driver and rebooted the computer...

Most of the scanner software has options to set the scan area. Yours MAY have got set to a tiny area outside the thing you are scanning. So check the options including the scanning resolution. Reinstalling the I/O driver is useless. Re-installing the scanning software itself MIGHT restore the resolution to defaults. If there is a way to restore defaults, try that.
SOMETIMES re-installing software remembers your old settings, which could be the problem to start with.

I have installed the UE 404090, but cannot scan to my PC. It says no twain compliant found. If I press scan/file on the machine it says select destination _ what can I do there?

Hi,

Have you at some point installed a second scanning device on the system..

Reason being TWAIN is configured slightly different by every manufacturer to optomise the working of their hardware.

It some cases when you install a TWAIN device for Scanner A this can interfere with Scanner B
Usually its because your trying to use TWAIN(scanner A) on Scanner B

Make sense?

Make sure (if you have installed another scanner device) that you are using the TWAIN software that came with .

You might need to reinstall the entire set up from beginning.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Keep scandall in background

Possibly you need a more professional program. Scanning utilities following scanners (free) aren't a "Production" tool. Using PixEdit you can scan with one single click and after the scan is finished you could scan the next stack of pages. While it is then scanning the previosus document is processed with blank page removal, deskew, OCR, barcode recognition and a lot of other stuff. The reason is PixEdit using the mulitple cores in modern PCs.

Slow scanning

I had the same problem on a Mac after upgrading OSX (on 10.5.7 now).

Downloaded the newest scanner driver from Canon:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=2610&modelid=13800
and now it scans without delay!

I always scan using MP Navigator, not from the scanner itself: let's me edit the scans and save where I want as .jpg or .pdf.

Scanner won't scan

try connecting it to another computer. If it works, then it is a prblem with your computer, otherwise it is with your scanner hardware.

If you can open the scanner clean the circuit board with (Isopropyl alcohol) IPA solution. you can also try replacing the ribbon type cables connecting the print head.

If the problem arised due to dust accumulation, the above action should solve the problem.
