My Neptune MAH5500BWW washer makes a loud noise while spinning. Sounds like whatever is supposed to stabilize the movement of the drum is either out of place or broken. Please advise.

What is the model # of your machine???? The loud banging noise sounds like the loads were getting unbalanced. This is the most likely since i have no problems with the suspension all of a sudden not stabilizing tub properly. If the washer was moved or transported than that would make more sense to me. please provide as much info as you can. Try doing a load of 10 towels. Let me know how that does and with the model # i can help with pulling some diagnostic codes

the rear bearing is shot, it is beyond ecconomic repair!

This is not water that you hear. It is a form of liquid ballast that stabilizes the drum and counterbalances the weight of the clothes when the machine spins the clothes dry.

its probebly the main bearing. disconect the power and remove the back. then slide the belt off the big pulley. if you see alot of brown splatter you know its the bearing.if not with the belt removed go to the front and open the door spin the drum fast, if it makes the same noise its the rear bearing.

The sound of the tub spinning is a smooth and not ruff sound. and with speed it sounds like a 747 taking off ( when your inside not outside ) when the brgs go bad it will sound like a train on the tracks when your waithing to cross. ( very loud as it speeds up and very ruff. if you remove the 4 screws in the back can ck just below the center shaft. there may be brown water stains on the base frame . / water has got in the main brg . and the brg's are failing . hope this helped. mm. ( could be the drain pump / ck for coins ect. drain pump runs just before and during spin/ but not soloud like brg's.. **** .

Does it make the noise when spinning the drum by hand? If so, chances are you're right, the bearing is shot. No way to confirm without taking it apart and isolating the shaft and bearing then checking for noise or play. Good luck.

could be two things

1) thrust bearing
2) transmission

its probably because of the way the clothes are in it. you have to make sure the clothes arent leaning to one side and that they are evenly set up. otherwise when it goes into the spin cycle itll lean and hit the side of the washers inside and make it shake and do what you said it was doing.
