My RCA H106A is driving me nuts

I have a RCA H106A MP3 player and it doesn't seem to be holding all my songs. It's a 6GB and the sales person told me it should hold over 1000 songs. It used to have 700 songs on it but I deleted them to put new songs on, now it only holds 527 songs. Do you think there are other songs in another folder on my mp3 player? How much songs do you think it should hold? Also now it won't play both side of the headphones when i use it. I bought this thing 4 months ago. What do i do? Please help me.

When the person said 1000 songs, that's only if all the songs are about like 4 minutes long and of a certain bit rate, so around 128 to 196 kbps. Really, it all comes down to the size of the music files that you put onto the mp3 player. As for there being another folder with the songs in them, I've looked through all the visible folders to find the older songs but I wasn't able to find them. My problem with my H106A is that the older songs stay in the mp3 player and I can't find a way to delete them. I can tell you that they could have a hidden folder, but that is not very likely it.

How do i delete music from my rca h106a mp3?

Deleting Files,Pictures,etc from MP3 Player

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. Good Luck, I hope this helps

The sales person said i could receive fm radio on this mp3 player

When it's booted up use the +/- buttons to navigate to radio, press play/pause to enter the radio tuner, it's default station is 88.something , use the |<< and the >>| buttons to navigate stations, hold the player around in the air to fin good reception, look around in the radio menu and you can record songs/talk shows off the radio, be careful, if you're recording and you hear static, it will record the static. good luck!

How do i delete songs from my mp3 player?

Mp3 Players rarely if ever hold as many songs as they advertise - the numbers on the box, spec sheets are "ideal" numbers based on unrealistic 2-minute long songs all in mp3 ultra-compressed format. Although there are exceptions, I have found that, in general, 6GB = 1000 songs, 2GB = 400 songs, 1 GB = 200 songs. Very long audio files, audio books, etc will throw these numbers WAY off.

MyMusix's PD-6030:
If you are using Windows Media Player 11, go to the sync tab and make sure it is displaying only the files on your Mp3 player, and not every file stored on your Computer's hard drive. Click once on a song you want to delete, and then hit the delete button on your computer's keyboard.
If your not using Windows Media Player 11, then read pp. 17-20 of your user's manual, available at www.mymusix.com

RCA Lyra RD2317

Remember when you format memory like a hard drive you erase everything. Move music to your internal mp3 memory and do a profile - folders should appear. If you have flashed your player with the firmware update you can get 520 songs on the player for both internal and external combined but be warned that if you exceed this count your player will start to forget the earlier loaded songs - listed but not addressable (playable). The same is for the folder count eg. add album = artist + ablum title (min 2 folders). Plus always profile your songs after loading new music or deleting as this is an index build process to play song 152 = title x. This includes accidental radio recordings to MP3s. RD2312 , RD2315, RD2317 Lyra™ mp3 flash player Firmware/Application Upgrade Version 3.11 fixes:
  • Supports a total of 520 songs, in up to 50 folders, with up to 8 levels of subfolders.
