After you connect the MP3 player you need to double click the My Computer icon on your desktop. Once open you can open the MP3 player and drag the music from the player over to the colomn on your left where the rest of your music is stored on your PC.

I cannot remember how to get music from my computer to my GPX ml658b...please help!?!?!?

Hi mrn7777...
Downloading Music to MP3 Player

1...You must download and install Windows Media Player 11 on your computer.
NOTE...Some older MP3 players will not work with Windows Media Player 11 or Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 11.
If this happens to you, then you will have to uninstall Windows Media Player 11 and install Windows Media Player 10.
2...After you have downloaded and installed Media Player on your computer.
3...Open Media Player on your computer.
4...Install all your music into Media Player that you want to install on your MP3 player.
5...Plug in your MP3 player to the computer using your Data/Sync cord, be sure that Windows Media Player is on.
6...Media player should recognize the MP3 player and sync with it.
7...After it is sync'ed with the computer, you can add the music you have installed into Windows Media Player to your MP3 Player.

CANT REMEMBER HOW TO DOWNLOAD MUSIC ON GPX DEVICE.

Connect your device and open Windows Media Player. At the top of the Media Player there's a button that says Sync, when you press it, a little picture of your device should show up in the right side panel. Then you just stroll through your library dragging what you want into the side panel. When your satisfied press START SYNC button at the bottom of the side panel.

Syncing with Windows Media Player

Place the music files that you want to transfer into the My Music folder of your computer - Windows will re-read them, and then you can synchronize to your device. Also, make sure the hold/lock switch is not engaged on the mp3 player - it probably isn't, but just check.

The ml638b gpx digital audio player

you have to have on your computer windows media player, then download your music into a foulder named music in my documents, that way when you open the media player the music should show in that program, then select sync on the bar and drop the music into the right side colum where said sync list then select sync at the bottom of that list of songs, of course you have to plug your device into the computer for this. good luck, it work if you do the correct thing.

1gb digital media player

Corrupt DB - double check GPX's website for firmware update
If no, then reformat player:
There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
