Hoover 200m Top Loading Machine Spin Cycle Too short

Hi
My Hoover has a very short spin cycle.(I minute)
Is this normal?
Clothes still wet.

  • Tobor1 May 09, 2008

The washing machine washes, fills and drains as per normal.

then at the final spin cycle the pump just keeps running until the final click on the dial, then spins for about 1 minute then stops.

It appears to sit there and drain even if there is no water in the tub.

    Hope that this helps

gotcha. sounds like you have a problem with the timer. this may sound strange but you can confirm this by lifting the lid after the unit goes into the final spin cycle (when it just sits there draining). when you do this if the unit goes into spin upon shutting the lid you need a new timer. this unit has a neutral spin gearcase and it won't shift into spin until it gets a pause the reason for this is to allow the tub to drain alittle before the spin starts your timer isnt giving it the pause I think

when the water is removed , the machine progresses the program to a high speed spin
call a technician as there may be a problem in the program board

How do I fix my spin cycle the clothes are still really wet it spins but the clothes are still wet

Hi Russell, Before you check out the link below read how To perform the Master Reset, carefully unplug the washing machine from the power outlet and leave it unplugged for one minute. After one minute is up, plug the washer cord back into the wall. Next, open and close the door of the washing machine 6 times within 12 seconds to send a "reset" signal to all the components. (This is a common fix that many appliance repair mechanics use - it works on about 50% of all washing machines.) Once the reset has been completed set the washer to do a small load with no clothes in the washer. See if the washer goes through with the cycle as normal. If the washer performs correctly, then it has been reset and is fixed. If not refer to more troubleshooting techniques and causes of problems below.
If that did not solve the problem then it may be the "Lid Switch". Top loading washing machines that have a faulty lid switch will not turn the agitator and the spin cycle will not start. However on some washing machine models it will still agitate but not spin. To properly check this you must remove the lid switch.

Hi, My Hoover 600MB top loading washing machine is approx 8 years old. Recently it has occassionally not fully spun out - clothes still wet at end of cycle. Now it also often doesn't agitate - just...

Have a look for coins etc stuck in the drain pump or the tub outlet hoses especially where they fit onto the tub. If a coin or other foreign material blocks the water flow when draining , these machines wont spin properly.

Ca230 w. machine not spinning leaving clothe wet, no water in drm

It is possible that the belt at the back of the machine is slipping. try running the spin cycle without any load in the machine. I assume this is a front loading machine and you are in UK. the Belt is available on line for about 15 pounds.

If it is running the washing cycles normally, it can't be the motor.

My old Hoover top loader Washer is noisy & doesn't spin out properly - how can I fix it?

Sounds like the switch which cuts the machine off when the load is unbalanced. My guess is that: This switch is being triggered too easily The springs holding the bowl up are either stretched or one is broken; The machine may not be level.
