Problem playing CD from USA

Hi, i bought a CD from off ebay, a CD made in the USA, and my new Sony HiFi system refuses to play it, Windows Media player refuses to play it and PowerDVD will play it but its sounds like an old !950's recording. No visible marks on the CD.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Seems to be a media problem. I would contact the seller and explain the problem to them ...accordianman

I have a remote which doesn't work anymore. (20 year old sony LBT-V502 hifi installation and it's standard RM-S530 remote.) What can I do? is it possible to buy a new one?

That is really old. Once you have tried fresh batteries there is not much more to do.

Amazingly there is one for auction on eBay. Good luck. Personally though, I would not buy it used at that price, I'd get a nice new hifi, maybe DAB radio,

My Sony mini hifi component system is going berserk!! 2 problems: 1- CD system skips tracks and on playing on repeat song, the song skips certain times and jumps ahead of the track. 2- Tape system plays...

Your cd player is fubar and in definite need of replacement.
Tape unit seems to have a mind of its won. Try to reset the electronics to factory defaults. If that has no remedy, since it is a sony< best advise is to trash it. Repair cost is prohibitively expensive.

Hi my playstation is not playing new games that i buy the disks are fine but it still plays the old ones

check the disk if it's original.If it's an original then check the disk if it is NTSC(USA) or PAL(UK) if your ps3 is a NTSC but you bought a PAL cd then have it exchange at the shop where you bought it.Hope's thi helps

Are you sure that you have the file type associated in your Windows operating system to a Music player like Windows Media or iTunes? This may be the most common reason that music CDs won't play.

It is error message of HiFi when it finds problem in Tape Mechanism. Tape mechanism is stucked and needs to be reset. Open your HiFi and rotate the capstan wheel with finger and then try to power up.

hi bobro, when burning the cds, make sure that you are burning it as an audio cd, as this player does not support mp3 formats, just normal audio cds... hope this helps!
